SOURCE: washing machine not working
I just had the same problem. In my case, a pen cap was stuck in the impeller of the drain pump and prevented it from working. To access the drain pump remove the lower kick panel on the washer by removing (3) Torx drive screws. Make sure you get the water out of your tub before working on the pump or it will spill out on the floor. The pump is front & center. First check the clean-out filter for blockage by turning the big knob on the front of the pump. If that doesn't appear to be the problem, you can take the pump out by removing (1) screw and disconnecting (2) hoses and the electrical connector. The pump itself consists a white housing and a black motor assembly. Remove the motor assembly by removing (3) screws. This is where you will see the impeller and and item that may be preventing it from turning. Besides dealing with the water, the most difficult part of repair is reconnecting the hoses using the hose clamps. Best of luck! RDam

Your door will not open if there is water still in the machine. Try "spin only". If this fails, get a bucket, remove your outlet tube from the wall drain, put into bucket. Wall plug off first. After all the water is drained try the door, do not force it.
Then check your outlet filter; the water does not go thru for there may be a block in your filter, or tube from the tub to drain area. Or finally in your pump. Dont forget to refix drain pipe in wall in exact position.
And rate me pl.

Hi, I don't know if this is much help to you now as it has been a while since you posted your problem. I had the exact same problem and after a lot of swearing and 2 days and no help what so ever from LG I took matters into my own hands.
I took the top off the the machine and removed the small steel plate, you will know what I am talking about after you have done the same.
I had my hubby hold the tub back as far as possible and used a screw driver to release the latch which is at the front of the machine about half way down. You will see a small silver steel knobby looking thing. After the machine was finally opened I unscrewed the screws on the inside of the door and used a flat screw driver to prise the housing apart. Be careful not to drop the glass window as when the housings start coming apart the window is no longer secure.
I found that a small piece of plastic on the handle had perished and broken not allowing the correct function. A phone call to Sunstate spare parts got the new handle to me within a few days at a cost of $20.95.
My only problem now is putting the bloody thing back together. I have been at it for 3 days with no sucess. If you manage to work out how to put yours together please let me know. I hope this has helped and hasnt come too late.

Sounds like you have a blocked pump.To empty the machine manually lower the drain hose into a bowl or bucket.Once emptied the door should open.On most modern machines there will be a filter behind the kick plate at bottom front of machine, Check this for any foreign objects then try a spin before putting on again. If problem persists come for further options.
