I too experienced this same proble yesterday. I contacted Magellan support by email and this is the reply I received:

" I understand that your unit displays press ENTER to configure NAND. I would
request you to press Menu, Nav and Power button at the same time. If the
issue still persist you would have to send in your unit for repair."

I have not had a chance to try this but will do so as soon as I get home. Has anyone found a solution that works yet. My unit worked great until I upgraded the system. It worked fine that night but the next day I received the above error.

With you 500 turned off press nav + power; then change the numbers 00 in 95 by using the joystick and and then press the joystick itself; accept what proposed.
after turning the gps on again and pressing enter the NAND will be configured and your gps will become in order again. if necessary, in usb file transfer mode, reload the basemap in the directory background maps

Error message at start-up reads: "Press ENTER to continue NAND, Press ESC to cancel". Either choice I seclect and the unit shuts-down.

"With you XL turned off press nav + power; then change the numbers in the box from 00 to 95 by using the joystick and then press the joystick itself; (ENTER), accepting what is proposed...

Either FORMAT or SCAN...

After turning the gps on again and pressing enter the NAND will be configured and your gps will become in order again. Your system will immediately start to re-set itself.

If necessary, in usb file transfer mode, reload the basemap in the directory background maps..."
My unit is NOW re-booting back to normal!

My eXplorist XL is locked up

"With you XL turned off press nav + power; then change the numbers in the box from 00 to 95 by using the joystick and then press the joystick itself; (ENTER), accepting what is proposed...

Either FORMAT or SCAN... LET IT RUN!

After turning the gps on again and pressing enter the NAND will be configured and your gps will become in order again. Your system will immediately start to re-set itself.

The only difference is that I had to load my SD card in the unit for it to work during the FORMAT.

My unit is NOW re-booting back to normal!
