First you switch on the supply by shorting (green and black )wire in output socket of smps.then check output voltages. If there is no voltage then check switching transistors or protection transistos that is placed on first hit sink.check primary bridge and capacitors for open.

D-link router (with 1 antenna and no modem) that has no power and no LEDs lit. the outlet still works to charge a cellphone. how do we fix the router?

Possibly the powersupply for the router is dead. Find another powersupply with same voltage output to try OR test the output tip with a meter. If the power supply does work then your router is dead. Replace it. If there is no power (5 volts or 12 volts etc) coming from the tip of the power supply adaptor then replace the adaptor / power supply.

Tc-p42x5 powersupply problem

you would have to be able to follow the voltages and check for shorts or opens in that supply with a multimeter (voltage and resistance) or gamble and just replace the board.

If fuses good and no puffy caps in power supply things need to be checked with test equipment and eventually boards replaced to either fix it or know it is not on any board---a display panel can also cause this.

Another option is have a repair shop look and give you an estimate.

I have a KDL52s5100 it is not working(no lights, dose not t turn on) due to a thunderstorm. I have bought 2 powersupply board and a new main board and still nothing turns on no even a light.. please help....

make sure that all the voltages in the power supply output are present before connecting to the control motherboard. also confirm that the cables supplying the voltages to the motherboard are all matching e.g do not make a mistake to connect the 3.3v cable to the 12v terninal. just be cautios and your system will power up

Tv made a pop noise followed by a long hiss and the picture wnt off, sound is okay though.

Related to a capacitor blowing up on your powersupply that supplies the voltage for the backlight inverter. The backlight inverter lights the tv. The power supply will need to be repaired so it can supply the 24v needed for the backlight inverter to work properly.

Thank you and best of luck!~

Powersupply Faulty

Check for short circuit on your Powersupply. If you can isolate it, much better. check the voltage regulator if it supplies power to the system. better still check the regulator itself.

1. Full power down. Unplug the power cord from the Power supply. Then hold down the pc power button.
Try to boot the pc.

2. Open the case and reseat the graphics card, hard drive, and RAM.

3. Take out one of the RAM sticks if there is 2 or more. Swap the RAM sticks in different RAM slots.

4. Set the Cmos jumper to clear. Power up the pc. Power down the PC. Set the Cmos jumper back to normal position, power up the PC.

5. Unplug and replug all the power supply cables.

6. Check the powersupply function. Either by a powersupply voltage checker, put the powersupply in a different pc, or try a different powersupply in the problem computer.

Could be bad ram, motherboard, cpu, powersupply, videocard.

Pop fuse when pluged in

yes it may very well be the horizontal output transistor or the voltage regulator ic or a shorted rectifier diode on the power supply or the b+ capacitor on the powersupply good luck

Problem booting

The power supply is your likely culprit. You probably have a bad diode in the power supply. Even if you check the voltages and everything checks out, it still could be bad because voltage checks are done with no load on the power supply. When a diode is bad, a load on the power supply can cause shut down (had the same thing happen to my pc 2 mos ago.) Try a different supply of at least the same wattage rating. If you are still having the same problem, you could be looking at a bad system board. Hope this helps. Good luck.
