Cannot synch email - don't have BES or MES

Hi - I have a new Blackberry Curve. I can send and recieve email on my POP3 account without any problems via a BIS account. However, when I click "Synchronzie Now" on my desktop manager (with the "Reconcile Messages" box checked) it only syncs the Calendar and Contacts.. no emails....From reading online it seems there is a way to sync my BB inbox (no subfolders) with my Outlook Desktop PC Inbox, but there is no detail on really how to do it. Do I need Intellisync and Desktop manager? ANy help would be appreciated.... Adam

Yes, you need desktop manager, you can't wireless Reconcile on BIS, you have to be on BES.

I recommend Desktop Manager 4.2 for your device.

Forgot blackberry curve password

Hi,

Do you know if your blackberry is activated with your enterprise on a BES server or with a personal email account.

1. With an enterprise activation on a BES server, you just have to ask your BES admin. It would be able to push you a new one.

2. But badly, if it's a personal BlackBerry, I'm sorry to tell you that you will have to wipe it and reactivated again.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Regards,
BES Tech

How do I set my e-mail address to download emails

Just so everyone knows, I have BB Curve 8310 with AT & T.

You get 1 blackberry email account (in my case, it's username@att.blackberry.net). If you're like me, you have business, personal, etc accounts that you want to add without getting 20-30 minute delays before the email hits your BB.

Let's say you have 2 emails you want to set up (1 for your business and 1 personal). Let's say your business POP3 email is myname@mybusiness.com.

1) Create a username with your ATT BB address (let's say, mybusinessname@att.blackberry.net).
2) In your POP3 email settings, choose to "redirect" or "forward and save a copy in Inbox" and forward your emails to your ATT BB address (mybusinessname@att.blackberry.net) you've just created. This will help get your emails to your BB pretty much instantaneously. And emails will be kept in your inbox for you to reference as well.
3) Log into your providers BIS (short for Blackberry Internet Service). ** Can't post a link but you can just Google your providers name followed by Blackberry Internet Service and you should find it
4) Once you're logged in, from there you can set up your account.
• Email Account Name: put your ATT BB address in there
• Reply To: This is where you can put any email address you want. So, even though you're sending the email from username@att.blackberry.net, the user will see whatever email address you put in this field. So, in this case, you want to put myname@mybusiness.com. So, the user will see it came from myname@mybusiness.com and when replying, they will reply to myname@mybusiness.com (which is then forwarded to your ATT BB email, which is then forwarded to your BB).
• Auto BCC: The only problem with doing this (and I run into this a lot) is that since I'm sending out so many emails - some from BB and some from my office computer, I don't know what I sent to people, and without an Enterprise server, it is not automatically synched with my desktop in my office. What you can do here is set up a Gmail account and name it mybusiness_dump@gmail.com and any email you send from your BB will be sent to this email address as well so you know what you sent people.
• Signature: You can change your signature for each of your email accounts (business, personal, whatever), which is great.

I cannot recieve emails on my Blackberry

Hi, we have to know from which email account you are not able to recieve emails, and what type of email account is that like pop3, Imap etc. However i have given information related to few account types i hope this will help you to resolve the issue.
1) If you are a BlackBerry Internet Service subscriber and you are unable to receive email messages from an integrated Yahoo BizMail account, if it is a email account integrated using pop.bizmail.yahoo.com, To resolve this issue, do the following:
a) Remove the integrated Yahoo BizMail account from the BlackBerry Internet Service.
b) Reintegrate the Yahoo! email account.
2) If you are unable to receive email messages on the BlackBerry smartphone from a Google Gmail webmail service account that is associated with a BlackBerry Internet Service account. The This issue may be caused by one of the following:
a) The Google Gmail account is currently not validated.
b) The global filter is set to prevent email messages from being forwarded to the BlackBerry smartphone.
c) The Messages database may be corrupt for the integrated email account.
d) The BlackBerry smartphone user has an email application, such as Microsoft Outlook, making a Post Office Protocol (POP) connection to the Google Gmail account.
e) The number of email messages that can be stored on the Google Gmail POP messaging server has been exceeded.
I hope this information will be helpful to you

Blackberry messages as "unread" when removing from holder...

If he is synchronizing his BlackBerry with his Work email client (Outlook or Lotus Notes) using a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server), then the email he reads on Outlook or Lotus Notes will sync wirelessly to his BlackBerry as read, as he has opened these on his computer.

Please advise if this scenario applies. Do you have an email server at your work, or is your Boss checking email from a personal web based account like Hotmail or Yahoo?

How do I remove an IT Policy from a Blackberry Curve? This is a personal BB that use to be on a BES server.

goto Options > Security > General Settings > menu > Wipe handheld.

its the only way i am aware of to delete a policy, otherwise, the secure policy that gets deployed to a handset could be deleted easily and a password permanently removed by a thief. kind of makes the point of the policy redundant in that case.

My blackberry curve shows duplicate calendar information

Hi Patrick,

There are few possibilities:

  • There are multiple compressed ICAL [CICAL] Service Records on the BlackBerry® smartphone.

  • BlackBerry smartphones use the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and contain a BlackBerry Internet Service [CICAL] service book on the BlackBerry smartphone.

  • Calendar entries are created on the BlackBerry smartphone and these may not synchronize with the email client during wired synchronization.

  • So I need to know, are you using your Blackberrt deivce on a coporate BES server?

Also, Check in your Device settings for the [Cical] duplicate service record. If you need to know how then let me know.

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks.

    Email set up

you can, if you have an internet connection to your phone and a pop3 and smtp account on your email.

On jam, go to messaging >Accounts>Outlook E-Mail>Account>New Account...>Enter your e-mail Address: >next>next>Your Name>Username (Put your email login username)> Password (Your E-mail Password)>Account Type (POP3 is OK)>incoming mail (pop3 address, for gmail ,its pop.gmail.com)>Outgoing Mail (smtp server, like smtp.gmail.com)>Domain (if any)>finish.

    then to connect, Accounts>connect.
