The volume and chanel buttons wont work now - Televison & Video

Try 124 code, might work for combo unit.

Recheck all connections and try to get the TV on channel 3 or 4 especially if you have a cable or satellite box.

If you still have the Sanyo remote, you just need to press the INPUT button on the remote. The channel search and some other functions are disabled when the TV is in video/AV/game mode.

If you don't have the Sanyo remote, but you have a Universal remote which you use with the TV, look for a button labelled INPUT or SOURCE on this remote and try pressing it.

If you don't have any remote for this TV or you are using a universal remote which does not have an INPUT or SOURCE button, please reply to me from within this page for further assistance and let me know the brand and model number of any universal remote you are using. There is no option in the menu for doing this, but there a couple of methods which work on some TVs

Come on, lets try to solve this. Take the batteries out of the remote so it can't interfere and try changing the channels and volume with the buttons on the tv. If this works then someone has spillled something onto the remote and gummed it all out. You simply need to take the remote apart and clean it out. If the buttons on the tv do th same as the remote did then yes, take it back.

I turned the TV off. I held in all of the (4) buttons on the front of the TV and turned the TV back on again....this seemed to free up the remote control access and I was able to work the TV normally. The four buttons were the channel and the volume controls.

Most receivers you can adjust the different chanel levels. If you refer to the manual on adjusting chanel volumes in surround sound mode.

I figured it out. It is, in fact, the front panel board. Disconnecting it sloves all issues. A contact in one of the tact switches must be stuck or giving an abnormal resistance value to the system. Once disconnected, the remote works correctly. I'd rather replace the entire board than try fixing/replacing a tact button only to have another fail in the future. I've heard this has also been an issue with the power button.
