Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Yeah, I really dont know where I can get one and if I did, I am a broke college student. If you could send me a link to like a best buy or someplace where I can get one for cheap that would rock and i would totally get one. But If its possible to fix this problem and not spend 40 something dollars to get a card reader that would be preferred. Thank you :D

I assume you're in the US? I got a SD/SDHC card reader at Target for $7. Wal-mart has them starting at $8. Even if you have to pay twice as much, it'll pay for itself in the hassles you'll save.

Having gone over six months without a further response, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.

From the start menu, go to "search" and type in those terms. When the search finds them, highlight them, right-click and delete. Do the same with "nikon" and you should be rid of everything.

No, you don't.

Need to put Pictures from Camera onto Memory Card

Hi there. Here is how you do it. Go into the menu and navigate to the Copy screen. Choose an option. One is to copy pictures from the camera's internal memory to the SD card, and the other is copy from the SD card to the camera's internal memory. Then press OK. On the next screen, you have two option choices, either copy all images, or selected images. Hope that helps.

Nikon Coolpix L14....deleting multiple photos

Yes, a format of the memory will erase ALL photos in one shot.
I don't have a manual for this camera but from this site:
http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Nikon-Coolpix-L14
It sounds like you go into the menu, choose setup and go to page 2.
There should be an option to format on this page.
Of course, before doing so I would backup all these photos to your computer.
