You can see the icon of the quick launch near to the clock in which the USB emblem is present.

You can also hve it on the device icon to remove it safely

How do eject disc from my mac os x

Every Mac that has an optical drive has an eject key on the keyboard. Pressing the eject key will eject a CD or DVD.

The eject key has this icon on it: ?

You can also right-click on the disk icon, then choose "Eject" from the pop-up menu.

You can also click once on the disk icon, then choose "Eject" from the File menu.

You can also drag the icon to the Trash icon in the dock.

The eject key will only eject CDs and DVDs, but all of the other methods described above will also unmount other media types, like a hard drive or flash drive connected via USB, FireWire, or Thunderbolt.

How do I eject a USB cord from my Mac?

Hi Susan
Direct answer to your Question.
Pull on it..
Cords don't need ejecting, only the device on the other end!

If you mean USB Stick or Dongle then click on Icon and then
CMD E (for eject)
or Drag ICON to Trash Bin - trash changes to Eject
Cheers

On your taskbar, bottom right of the screen near the time.
You should see a Green circle with a check sign against a small USB icon. This is the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" button.
Right click this, select your E reader, and eject it!
Hope this helps!

First of all it is not that necessary to click the Unplug Eject Icon for removing the Hard Disk. Default with Windows XP Opearating System there is a option for removing the USB External Devices without clicking the Unplug Icon. So no need to worry.

Pen drive

Hi.
If you delete it in device manager and re-detect it, does it change? If you can see it in the taskbar, can you use the eject device icon to eject it, then remove and re-insert the drive?
Finally, try it on someone elses computer and see what result you get.
