No Serial Numbers/No Start up Disk

I purchased a Handspring Visor Delux from an estate sale. It was never used, but the serial number was taken off of the unit, and the disk was lost.
I tried to find a driver download on-line, but the serial number is needed. I took the Visor apart, because I was told the Serial # would be inside, there was a 14 digit something embedded on it. I tried to use it , but it said it was not valid.
Where can I get a start-up disk for this unit??? Can anybody help me???? The cheaper priced download would be greatly appreciated.
