I installed a Pioneer DEH-P800PRS head unit and 4 Kenwood KFC-1662S speakers in my 2003 Dodge Dakota extended cab truck. I used a Kenwood KAC-5204 2 channel amp connected in parallel. Sounds good at lower...

Hello.... sorry to hear about your problem. Bass is the ultimate evil of coaxial speakers. You have a couple of options here, and this is just my professional opinion because I do not know what your lifestyle details, such as truck space needs, type of music you listen to, budget, etc. If you are looking for alot of bass, the best bet would be to use 2 external amplifiers, 1 for the interior speakers, and 1 for a subwoofer. You would then need to purchase an electronic crossover. With this setup, you can remove all of the low frequencies from the coaxial speakers and put them where they belong, with the sub. You will gain EXCEPTIONAL clarity and a very high volume before distortion level. Again it will depend on what your budget is and if you are willing to compromise on some cab space. The only other option you have at this point is if you are wanting to play your music at high volume levels, you will just need to reduce the bass level as you increase volume. I hope this has helped. Good luck with your venture!!

Hello, I have a Kenwood KDC-MP225 powering a KAC-8101D that was pushing 1 Bazooka EL1200, the last amp blew the other 1... I was driving along 1 day and cranked it up before the cd started playing, I...

First off try a different source that you know works that you can control the volume of. (ipod) This will tell you if the amp works. If it still doesn't work try a different speaker that you know works, any speaker will do, just keep the volume down. Second see if running a new set of RCA's helps maybe something got pinched if it still is not working then your head unit line out is bad, try a different output and see.

Thanks,

I'm assuming that you have left the original wiring intact? If this is the case then it's a pretty simple thing to do. There should only be 2 cables one for each speaker & each cable will have a positive & negative polarity. Once you have securely fixed the speakers into place (usually screwing into place through the mounting holes provided) you just need to attach the wires to the speakers. If your car has manufacturers plugs on & don't match the speaker ones (quite often the case now) simply cut them off & replace with spade connectors of the right type/size. The most important thing is to get the polarity the same way round for both speakers! If you get them reversed you will NOT get any bass. Also remember with any new speakers they need time to run in & sound their best....so take it easy with the volume control for the first 20hrs or so of play if you want them to sound great & last longer!

Car sound system. only sub is giving off sound. other 4 speakers dont work at all

Could be bad outputs from the back of your head unit or also could be bad rca cables. Make sure the amp is on and powered.

Noise from woofer

Double check all of your cables, but it sounds like the power supply may have died. If the sound is like a mains hum, then the power supply will need to be replaced. Is it an internal or external one ? If it's internal, are there any fuses accessible ?

Sounds obvious, but double check the speakers are all correctly plugged in, by removing and re-inserting them. Check the volume controls and and other switches too. Try plugging headphones into the audio outputs to confirm their is actually a signal present, as the speakers may be fine, but the source may be faulty or its configuration changed.
