Check he heat sink fan working properly or not.
this fan start swinging when more heat generates/
also keep your laptop on hard plane surface while working on it.
never place it over bed like surface. if want to place it over bed.. then first of all place a book, then place the laptop over it.

Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error *** The system has halted

1) ALL power removed, AC adapter (Charger), and Battery

2) Lay a soft cloth down on the table you are working on.
(DO NOT work on a bed, couch, or directly on a carpet floor. HIGH areas of Static electricity)
Lay the Dell Notebook PC upside down on the cloth.(Helps prevent scratching the notebook, and the table)

3) Remove all Ram Memory module/s. ('Stick')

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1530/en/SM/memory.htm#wp1180190

[From,

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1530/en/SM/index.htm ]

Handle the Ram Memory module by the BODY.
The Body is everywhere on the Ram Memory module, EXCEPT the gold plated contact pins on the bottom.
The Body is coated with a see-through protective plastic,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1GB_DDR2_SO-DIMM.png

Use a pencil eraser to clean the contact pins. ALL pins, BOTH sides.
If you are using a pencil eraser on the end of a pencil, and not a solid eraser, refrain from letting the metal band of the pencil, touch the gold plated contact pins.

Rub up, and down on each contact pin. Doesn't take much pressure, nor rubbing to clean them.
In fact when you are done the contact pins may not be bright, and shiny.
It's okay I assure you that you have cleaned them.
(Doesn't take much 'corrosion' to make a bad contact surface)

Use air to remove the eraser dust. If you have a can if compressed air available use it. (Also use on the ram memory slots)
If not air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.

Reinstall all Ram Memory modules.
Reinstall the Battery, and then plug the AC adapter in. (Then plug the AC adapter into power)

WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

My dell vostro a860 keeps over heating because i dropped and now it over heats because the cores get up to 93 degrees celsius

Due to the shock, your laptop may have broken and have displaced parts and the fan/ heat sink etc might not be working. Over heating can cause further damage. Hence, it is strongly recommended that you immediately seek professional assistance to avoid any permanent damage to the system

GoodLuck!

Ac/dc power plug replacement for a dell XPS m1530 laptop

It would be stated as DC Power Jack.

For the Dell XPS M1530 it has a circuit board that is removed.

The circuit board also has the I/O USB ports on it.
(Input/Output)

DC Power Jack I/O USB Circuit Board example,

http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=5400

A lot more convenient for replacing the DC Power Jack.

Examples of a Dell XPS M1530 DC Power Jack,

http://www.discountelectronics.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=4527

Round and Octagon.

Dell XPS M1530 Service Manual. (From Dell Support)

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1530/en/SM/index.htm

1) Remove ALL electrical sources. AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Use an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
(Cost averages from $3 to $12. I connect to the metal frame of an empty desktop computer case)

3) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove. Label each compartment for the area the screw/s came out of.
(You can use a clean egg carton in a pinch. Label each each holder)

There may be as many as 60 screws, and 12 different types of screws.
DO NOT mix them up.

4) Make notes and drawings as you disassemble. Use a video cam if available. (Use good lighting)
Nice to have a record to come back to if you are interrupted.

5) I suggest using Solder Wick, (Desoldering Braid), for desoldering.

A lot better IMHO than using a Desoldering Tool.
(Solder S u c k e r tool)

50 Watt of less soldering iron, No.2 chisel tip.
.055 Rosin core solder
Rosin paste flux
Solder Iron stand with a damp sponge, or a damp sponge nearby.

My daughter put two cd in my dell xps m1530.any idea how to get them out

Hi,
Please try the following:
On your dvd drive there is a very small pinhole. Get a paperclip and try to push it through. This pinhole is used for emergencies where the dvd drive does not eject.
Other thing you can do, is to turn your laptop upside down and remove the dvd rom drive from your laptop. Then unscrew the dvd drive to get the cds out.

My dell xps m1530 will not and the eject will not function

The M1530 slot drive has no manual eject. If the drive is not ejecting the media, then a service call is required to replace the optical drive. (The old drive has to be removed from the chassis to get the media out of it)

Hopefully, the system is under warranty.

if not, information on removing the optical drive is here:
