Question about Belkin Surf Share Wireless USB Adapters (F7D2101)

1 Answer

I try connecting to the internet after plugging in my Belkin Surf and Share wireless adapter, and it says it's not connected. I tried installing the Belkin utility, but it wasn't working either (all the buttons in the utility were grayed out :P). Now when I try to connect using the Windows Zero Configuration, it says that it cannot configure the connection. I checked in the Services and the WZC is running. I've tried everything I can think of, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers to the adapter ten times, rebooted dozens of times, and nothing seems to be changing a thing. If anybody can offer some assistance, I would greatly appreciate it, as everywhere else i've gone has told me to enable the WZC, which is simply redundant, seeing as it's already enabled. Thanks.

Hi, let me know the operating system of your laptop or desktop that you're using (it's very
important for compatibility) and also the service pack that's running your PC. If you don't
install the adapter properly, the problem will occur repeatedly. Remember, running the
driver without plug in USB.

Installed belkin Surf USB but it is unable to get Ip address from bt hub tried uninstalling and reinstalling no change

there is a button on the bt hub with the wireless sign on it, press it to allow the usb device to connect. You onlt need to to do this once its a security measure to stop anyone logging into your wireless network. Also it will only stay allowable for connections for a short period of time. But as i have said you only need to do it once to allow the new computer to connect.

You can try an simple step like..deleting the preferred networks(saved networks) and then try re-connecting..That should do the job. Even then if its the same issue.. Change the channel and SSID in the belkin router and power cycle the router(turn off the power of the router for 10 sec) and power it back on.. and reconnect all your computers and everything will work properly.

Hope this helps. For further information please do feel free to contact us.

I have a belkin surf/share usb adapter f7d2102 got a good signal i hit connect windows searches it cannot connect i have tryed for a d------ nweek it has to be in the configured something need unchecked...

Hi i got your issue .....

Try with the following steps ....
I hope that when you scan and connect for the network will get the message as "windows cannot configure any wireless networks"
This means that there is a conflict between xp utility and belkin utility but this can be resolved by the following steps

Step 1: Click on the "start " and then go to "run"

Step 2: On "run" type - "services.msc" and then hit "ok"

Step 3: Now a new window pops up ....there u please search for "wireless zero configuration " and double click on it

Step 4: You will get a " wireless zero configuration -properties window"

Step 5: IN that window check that the start type should be "automatic" and the service status should be "started "

Step 6: Then click ok and close the screen

Step 7: Then click on start -control panel-network connections- wireless network connections (make a right click) and
you will find properties and at the top you will have the option"wireless"

Step 8: On that screen you will have the check box as "use windows to configure to my wireless networks "

Step 9: That check box has to be checked then click "ok"

Step 10: Try scan and connect -you will have the network -you can connect to it

Hopefully this will work ....

If problem still presists please contact 24/7 belkin technical support 1800-2235546

With regards ......
