It applies when inserting CD's that I know work in another player. I insert it and select the track and the number 1 shows briefly on the display; then a row of zeros . At this point, I press "play" and nothing happens. I tried the remote in the same way to no avail, However, the problem is intermittent; it will work for a while, then not.

Correction: The number 1 appears briefly without my selecting the track. I can select another track, though, and the same thing happens (or doesn't).

Hey, it works now. I tried it a lot of times over the last few days. I hope it stays OK.

More than likely the drive motor that loads and spins the disk has failed, the thing here is that the cost to repair this is more than to just buy a new one, about $125 for repair on average

Does this apply when using the remote control and the play button on your cd player? If yes, they try playing other cds so you can troubleshoot and isolate the cause of the problem. Also, try pressing the fast forward or rewind key on your remote and then press Play button.

Can not get the mac pro osx 10 5 8 to start with the utility disk or with regular start up my on pilot lite keeps blinking

Put the Mac install disk back in. Try pressing command-option-escape to force quit. If nothing happens, then press command-control-power to force a restart. If that doesn't work, press and hold the power button for five seconds or so until the computer shuts down. Power up the computer again, and hold the option key so you can select the instal disc for startup. Run Disk Utility again. Sometimes you get a tangled file reference that requires several tries to undo - this could be calling the sleep routine instead of what it's supposed to do.

The disk might not have a working OS on it.

It you have successfully run the disk utility the disk probably in full working order. I think that the OS on the disk is either missing, corrupt or not compatible with the computer you are running it on.

When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

Error code e01

do the following steps: God bless you
To start test program, press and hold both POWER SCRUB PLUS and RINSE & HOLD program buttons, then turn unit on by pressing ON/OFF button. When program buttons are released, lights above them will flash. To end test program, press ON/OFF button. To check program indicator lights (POWER SCRUB PLUS, REGULAR WASH and RINSE & HOLD), press and hold each program button. When REGULAR WASH program button is pressed, CLEAN light also comes on.
To start testing, press both POWER SCRUB PLUS and RINSE & HOLD buttons a second time. When testing has ended and a fault was detected, the following indicator lights will be lit:
POWER SCRUB PLUS = Heater fault
REGULAR WASH = Water filling fault (over or under filling)
RINSE & HOLD = NTC (temperature sensor) fault ? note circulation motor stops shortly after it started during an NTC fault
To check for heater, high limit or flow switch problems, start testing until heating starts. Using a meter with a current coil, measure current going into dishwasher. If current is ~ 11 A, then heater, high limit and flow switch are OK. If current stays at ~ 1.5-2 A, then heater, high limit or flow switch are faulty.
If water level switch (f1) has failed (opened), REGULAR WASH light will come on and unit will continually fill and drain where testing won't be completed. If flow switch (e5) has failed (opened), water won't heat (to 150?F) and water won?t stop circulating. If NTC probe (f2/f4) has failed (opened), RINSE & HOLD light will come on immediately and testing will end shortly after water has started circulating.
If more than one fault occurs, more than one light will be lit.

My playstation 2 won't play any disks period. How can I fix this?

To start the auto diagnosis feature

Press the standby/RESET button on the front of your PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system to turn on the system. Make sure the indicator light turns green.

The Main Menu screen will appear.
NOTE: It might take some time for the main menu screen to appear.

Using the directional buttons, highlight [Browser] and press the (X) button.

Highlight [System] and press the (X) button.

Highlight [Diagnosis] and press the (X) button.

Highlight "On" and press the (X) button.

Insert a disc.

Auto diagnosis will start automatically.
The system will make adjustments that might allow previously unplayable discs to be played.

To start the disc after auto diagnosis is complete (for 30000-50000 series):

Press the (O) button twice to return to the browser screen.

Using the directional buttons, highlight [Browser] and press the (X) button.

Press the (X) button to play the disc.

if still not work then apply this
Just take some rubbing alcohol and cotton buds. Gently clean the lens. If this won't help - the laser needs to be replaced. Don't worry, they are cheap now.

No sound on a Technics SL-PG450 CD Player I currently have a Technics CD player SL-PG450 which had issues reading discs. The machine would attempt to play then stop, then start again. At the point of reading a disc the unit would play as tho you were listening to the Chip-Munks until you skipped half way along the disc then it would play at normal speed. This behaviour was different everytime. Adjusting the lens focus had no effect, neither did adjusting the spin motor did anything either, so out came the laser assembly unit in place for another one. Having said that the laser didn't turn on half the time either. I also had a couple of the earlier model Technics SL-PG300 which I thought to make the attempt to establish a complete rebuilt working model out of the two players. I tested and compared the two assembly units along with the loading tray and switched over the two loading trays with its laser assembly in it from a SL-PG300 into a SL-PG450. The problem I have now, is that I had solved the reading issue in the SL-PG450 reads discs within a second or two, and searches and skips beautifully. The problem I am getting now, is no sound. Each time you play a disc you hear a small pop sound and nothing more, but if you listen using earphones through the unit you hear hiss and mutes this sound whenever the disc is skipped or stoppped. I compared the pin outs from the main PCB board between the two players leading towards the laser assembly unit as they were numbered and had writing on the PCB board at each pin as this was correct. What I can't follow, is that now the SL-PG450 reads and plays a disc fine, but no sound is heard from the unit. Any ideas? Cheers, Pete
