Hello. According to Gerber Blades, the correct way to remove and replace the battery would be to unscrew the end cap all the way. The battery will then fall away allowing for a new battery insertion. Hope this helps.

My streamlight stylist flashlight won't turn on. i had to shake it or mess with rhe end by turning it yo get it to come bsck on. I was holding it in my mouth do you think it got wet

LED flashlights (depending on the manufacture) are not cracked up to what they say they are. The problem with these LED flashlights is that they don't draw enough/much current through the flashlight itself to close the circuit when turned on. So, what happens a lot of times, they become intermittent. Sometimes you have to play with the on/off button to get it to turn on or unloosen the battery end cap or the LED end cap and retighten. Sometimes you have to remove the batteries themselves from the holder and reinstall. Or sometime just spinning the batteries in the holder will fix it till next time. LED flashlight with spring contacts inside work a little better because it's applying pressure to the contact inside the flashlight providing batter connections.

Not sure which bit to unscrew when trying change battery in onyx50

The flashlight uses 1 AA battery. My guess, you should only have to unscrew the end cap. If you finds it very hard to unscrew the end cap off, it could be from the battery has explode and swollen. MAYBE - I see this happen in my daughters MAG flashlight. DO not keep your flashlight in the car with the batteries installed. The amount of heat in the cars can ruin the batteries in the flashlight.

Flashlight batteries stuck in body

There are a couple of ways that can free a cell that has expended and is wedged inside a light.

One is to remove the tailcap and rap the end of the battery tube squarely against a piece of soft wood like pine. It will keep from damaging the end of the battery tube and the shock my slowly work the cell out of the light until it comes out.

Another is to tie a strong cord around the head of the light so that when you hang it the tail end is hanging down. Remove the tailcap, of course, and go outside to a safe place where a flying battery won't hurt anyone or anything. Start swinging the light as fast as you can so that centrifugal force can pull the stuck cell out of the battery tube.

There are a couple of other things you can do if the cell is near enough to the end of the battery tube.. If you have a soldering iron and can reach to the end of the battery with it, try soldering a strong length of wire to the end of the battery and pull the cell out.

I hope one of these helps. ;)

Hi I had the same problem. It seems that when I dropped it the back buttton got stucked, so what I did was to unscrew the back part (as if to replace the battery) and gave it kind of gave it a knock or hit it softly just to jiggle the button. Scre it back on and got it to work, Hope it works for you.

Broke my gerber 3.0 flashlight

Wow what entertainment. Both the poster and the bobint17 don't have a clue how this flashlight works... why answer a question you don't know the answer too? To screw with people? To sound like you know what you're doing?

Anyway, the Gerber TX 3.0 uses a Luxeon 3 LED. There is no bulb. It is not designed as a user replaceable item and unfortunately even someone skilled at soldering and such can't fix the light because the head is permanently attached and not designed to be removed allowing access to the LED assembly. Can the head be removed? Possibly. Will it damage something while trying to remove it with a lot of force? Possibly. Should you try? No. Why? Because the light has a limited lifetime warranty from Gerber. Send it to them and they will fix or replace it!!!
