HI, If you want to restore the computer back to default settings, all you need to do is to press Ctrl+F11 button during start-up. You get the option to restore the image like the first time you got your computer.
Thank you for using Fixya, your recommendation is highly appreciated for the free support.

How yo get a delited file back

If it is in your trash can you can hit restore file. If it was deleted from the trash can a program like tune up utilities has a restore deleted files. Some anti-virus programs have the same. Check what your anti-virus offers. Personally I love tune up utilities it takes care of a lot of maintanance. You can either choose to do it manually or set it to run at a certain time every week. Basically does everything to keep your computer running smooth. There are other programs out there that do the same but That is my personal favorite.

Preventive Virus Removal Procedures

There may be some of you that have never thought about the power of User Accounts. User Accounts is a Graphic User Interface that has options to create new user accounts. Even though you are the only person using your computer, this is a good feature to setup.
The reason you want to setup this feature is because it can be used to backdoor a virus that has taken control of your account.
Here are the steps to setup User Accounts:
Click the Windows Logo
Click Control Panel
Navigate and click on User Accounts
Click on Turn User Account On and Off
Click Continue
Check Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer
Press Ok
Click Manage Another Account
Click Continue
Click Create a New Account
In the box type Administrator for a user name.
Select Administrator as the account type
Click Create Account
Click on the Administrator account
Click Change the Password
Create a password with one capital letter, one number, one special character and at least 7 characters long.
Keep that password in a safe place.

Reasoning: Each person who logs on to a computer has a profile, this profile is associated to that persons account. A profile is generically in a path like c:/users/ACCOUNT NAME/documents and settings/my documents. If a virus takes over this profile you will not be able to use Internet Explorer or any program like a virus remover application.
This is why you create another account.
When you logon with your Administrator account you will be able to access Internet Explorer and the virus remover software.
MalwareBytes has been proven to be an affective virus removal application, that is currently free as well.

Hi i need to restore my Phillips iqor computer to factory settings as i am getting rid if it and don't want to leave my personal information on it

You don't have to go thru all that trouble to get rid of your personal information. First just create a new user account with administrative rights that the person who is getting your computer will use. After you create the new user account reboot the computer and log on with the new account you created. Then Delete your old user account. It will delete all your documents, music, pictures, videos.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then create the new user account with Administrative Rights (not limited).

Reboot and and log on with the user account you just created.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Account and select the account you want to delete and Delete it. When asked about files to save, you want to delete everything associated with the account you are deleting.

If you have more than one user account you want to delete, do the same thing for it.

My pc infected by virus (registry, trojan, p.let). which i can't ftp, change my ip add, locked some my prog etc. so i want to format my pc and restore it ASAP.

if the virus infected most of your files & programs, and REFORMATTING is the best solution, but you'll lost everything. But if you're going to make a BACK-UP of everything, then virus will have it's back-up copy as well; so if you do have a licensed anti-virus better call the anti virus support number for them to manually removed the virus on your pc.

A security icon that wont let me do any thing but

Hi, Michelle.
Need a little more info...was this a "free" anti-virus program offering to scan pc/laptop free? for viruses? You didn't give any personal info out to it, did you?
Can you get to "safe mode"? If so, in safe mode go to control panel; add/remove programs;uninstall this program...if it won't let you, try doing a restore to a previous date prior to when you started getting this.
There is a "anti-virus" program that acts like a virus to get you to buy their removal tool.

I recently found several virus on my pc when i try to get rid of them they wont let me. when ever i try to change any system settings this pops up ''system restore has been turned off by group policy. to...

Sounds like you have the famous "rogue security" virus. Be sure and back up all your data before continuing.

Download and intsall this software (it's not free but but better than a tech's fee) Cost $30.00:

http://www.enigmasoftware.com/

If you cannot even get to this page, then get on a second computer and download, purchase securely and install from a CDrom or flash drive to infected computer.

Run the program, register and kill everything. Fast, easy takes 10 minutes or less.

The other way around this is to back up everything and reformat computer. Scan all documents before putting back on computer. Virus is gone. This process takes one day to complete and is free if you have the restore disk or Windows disk.

Cant find System Protection tab for Vista 32bit.

Do you mean "system restore" ?

If so its under control panel, system, system restore.

If it is turned off already then you will not be able to go back to an earlier restore point.

If you have a virus / spyware issue then take note that these can also hide in system restore points so even if you wanted to restore to a point before a virus or spyware issue you would still restore the bug too !

They can also corrupt the restore points so that they wont work

Random rebooting when connected to our wireless account

Possibly what you thought was a virus was actually early signs of this very instability. Back up everything you care about on that machine at once! Then run diagnostics (google some good download sites and do the downloads to a floppy or CD on the other machine). You are probably looking at buying a replacement (few eMachines are worth repairing)

PC rebooting randomly when connected to our wireless account

Check to see if you nieghbor is not playing tricks on you. This sounds rel fishy that your computer reboots when connected to this guys router. Some one is loading something as soon as it is connected. Try loading it with you wireless acount instead of the nieghbors. Also make sure you have your current antvirus and firewalls loaded. But also check to see if Conflicker is an issue, this is a new virus that uses other computers as robots causing them to reboot and install software and make them do all kinds of illgal activites and this one writes to the bios.

Hope this information give you some idea please rate accordenly thanks.
