It will be clearly shown in the device manager if there is sound drivers... Get the sound drivers for your model computer fro the website of HP(www.support.hp.com) then install it on the computer.. The problem should be fixed....

Why is that my microphone not working?

First thing to know is, did music play normal? In other words, can you use a computer to listen to the song?
I don't know what you mean is a chat does not work or a sound recording does not work, follow the following steps to try:
1, your microphone in the figure below, there is a high, click on it, there should be two check boxes, how did you uncheck? If you don't check at all, please don't pipe it. <B> above and to the left in the figure
2, you click 'options'-'Properties' in the open 'Properties' dialog box, choose 'single recorded' radio button selected in the box below 'microphone' and then click OK. Recording Control Panel appears (you playback control panel shown in the figure), the interface that appears with your diagram is essentially similar, but note that the mute here becomes a choice, you try to choose a microphone and volume to its maximum, and then see what effect? Similarly the microphone below also has a high, do the first step the same thing and then try.
If you have done the steps above does not help, try this:
right-click the computer speakers at the bottom right of the screen, select 'adjust audio properties' in the open 'sounds and audio devices properties' dialogue box, select the 'voice' tab. Click on the bottom 'test hardware', and then follow the prompts, if passed, it means that your hardware no problem, and the driver was installed. If the tests pass in place, keep an eye on it and then follow the instructions it make any adjustments.
If it is a driver not installed, reinstall it again. If you do not install, I am sorry, it is difficult to express in words clearly, please look for people to help one understand the installation. You can right-click on 'my computer' select 'Properties', and then open the 'hardware' tab, then click on 'Device Manager' in the Device Manager, there should be no yellow or Red Cross or an exclamation point appears, if you have to prove that you a device that is not working properly, of course, does not rule out is your sound card.

If there is a problem with it, a yellow exclamation mark should appear besides it. If you don't see it everything is OK and your card is working properly.

I AM HAVING ALTEC LANCING AVS300. I HAVE LOADED WINDOWS-7. THE SYS IS SHOWING SOUND DRIVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED.PL HELP AND LET ME DOWN LOAD DRIVERS, TELL ME THE TOTAL SITE ADDRESS.

hello waiyasin, this altec lancing don't need a driver, it just plug and play hardware. if there is a problem with the driver, try to install sound driver from your motherboard driver. if u use external sound card, try to install sound driver from the sound card driver. if u have problem how to install the driver then u just need open the device manager. u can find it on control panel. once u open the device manager window, insert motherboard driver (or sound card driver if u use external driver) into CD Rom. in device manager window u will find sound or audio device, right click it and choose update driver then follow the instruction. that's it.
hope this useful, regards.
NB: if u don't have motherboard (or sound card driver) try to goggling it or reply this solution with your motherboard name (or sound card name), maybe i can help to find your driver.

After rebooting my device during the installation of sound card driver systems restart automatically?

Start your computer in safe mode (hit F8 repeatedly as windows is loading) goto the device manager(right click on my computer and select manage, then select device manager) and open sound video and game controlers. Double click on the sound card listing, select the driver tab and click roll back driver. After this has finished you should be able to restart your computer normally. Apperently the new driver for your sound card is incompatable with something else in your system. If you don't have an older driver installed you may have to simply uninstall the device and search the internet for an older version of the sound driver.

Why wont my computer recognize my speakers? My computer is gateway with windows vista on it. In my device manager it has a caution sign but the logitech website says the speakers dont need drivers. Please...

Those speakers are meant to just plug into a sound card or onboard sound device or any sound device that has headphone jacks e.g. iPod. They don't provide feedback to the PC, so there is absolutely no need for drivers, which is why you don't see them in device manager. Think of them as a glorified pair of headphones.

I don't have audio and can't install the driver

Make sure that audio is enabled in the BIOS. Check to see if it displayed in the device manager and that it is enabled, as this will prevent you from installing the driver. It is also possible that the device is defective and you will need to replace it. I hope this helped. Good luck and have a fantastic day.

Hi,

Good day, if your using a laptop you can do this steps to enable your wireless

1. Make sure the wireless switch is on for your laptop. Usually it located on the upper part or side of your keyboard

2. Make sure that the laptop has a wireless network adapter
>Go to Start and click on Control Panel
>
Click on Hardware and Sound in Control Panel window. Note: If your Control Panel is in Classic View, you can just double click the Device Manager.
>In Hardware and Sound window, click on Device Manager to open it.
>The Device Manager will appear, then locate and expand Network adapters and right click
the network or wireless adapter you want to check, finally click on Properties
>
The network or wireless adapter properties window will appear, your driver is working well if it
shows This device is working properly under General tab.
3. If your device does not work well, click on Driver tab to check driver details, update driver, disable
driver or uninstall driver.

For you desktop it should be the same.

4. Next is to connect to any available wireless network on your location to check if you can connect
wirelessly.

Reminders: if you don't see any adapter it's either you dont have it ( specially for desktops ) or you need to have the driver reinstalled for it to work.

Hope this help you in your problem on how to enable wireless for your computer. Have a great day and God bless

Speaker wires are pluged in on my dell inspiron 530 but not working help

    • 1 Make sure that your computer and speakers are plugged in, have power and are turned on. If the speakers are plugged in but don't appear to have any power, plug them into a different outlet. Some speakers are self powered and use a USB cable to supply power. Make sure that the USB cable of your speakers is connected securely to the USB port of your computer.
    • 2 Retest the sound. If you still don't have any sound, make sure the cable connecting the speakers to the computer (known as a 1/8-inch TRS cable) is plugged into the green audio output jack on the PC.
    • 3 If you're using self-powered USB speakers, remove the USB cable and plug it into a different USB port. If you're using outlet-powered speakers and have a working set handy, replace the suspected non-working speakers with the working pair to test.
    • 4 Navigate to the Microsoft Fix It troubleshooter (windows.Microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/no-sound-in-windows) to automatically detect and fix sound playback or hardware problems. If that doesn't work, proceed with the next step.
    • 5 If you have an add-on sound card and none of the hardware or software fixes helps, you may have to replace the sound card. If you use on-board sound, it will probably pay to purchase an inexpensive sound card rather than a new motherboard. Check the system BIOS to determine whether you have inadvertently disabled your on-board sound.
    • 6 Navigate to the "Start" menu and select the "Control Panel" and "Sounds and Audio Devices." Then click the "Volume" tab. If everything is grayed out, proceed to Step 7. If the "Mute" box is checked, uncheck it. In "Device Volume," make sure that your volume level is set to a comfortable volume level for your speakers.
    • 7 Click the "Sounds" tab. Under "Sound Scheme," determine whether "No Sounds" is selected. If it is, click "Sound Schemes." A drop-down list will appear. Select "Windows Default" as the scheme. To test your sound now, click on a sound listed below the "Program Events" window. The sounds will be indicated by a small "Speaker" icon located next to them. Left-click the sound once, then click the "Play" button. If you still don't hear sound, proceed with the next step.
    • 8 Click the "Audio" tab. Under the "Sound Playback" option, make sure your sound card is selected as the default playback device. Usually, only one device appears here, unless you have multiple playback devices installed.
    • 9 If everything is grayed out, you either do not have a playback device installed or your drivers are corrupted and need to be replaced. Drivers help hardware and software function together. Fix this by reinstalling the appropriate drivers. Do this by navigating to the "Start" menu and right-clicking "Computer." Then select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. Click the "Hardware" tab and then click the "Device Manager" button. The Device Manager will open.
    • 10 Look for either a red X or a yellow question mark listed under "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers." If a red X appears, right-click the device with the X and select "Enable" from the pop-up menu. Test your sound at this point. If a yellow question mark appears, right-click the device, click "Properties" from the pop-up menu, and then click the "Driver" tab on the window that appears. Next, click the "Roll Back Driver" button to roll back to the previous drivers that were functioning correctly. Restart your computer when prompted.
    • 11 As a last resort, you can uninstall and reinstall the device. To do this, right-click the device and select "Uninstall" from the pop-up menu. Restart your computer. Windows will automatically detect and install your audio device upon boot-up. If you still don't hear any sound from your computer speakers, contact a qualified computer technician.

My computer has no sound and i don' know how to put sound back on to my computer

Probably a driver problem. Go to device manager and then sound devices and update your sound drivers...Or it could be a problem if the sound card is intergrated. You ca purchsed a pci sound card and fix it. You might want to check the bios and make sure your sound is enabled,,Hope this helps,,,,Darren
