Check th power to the display panel after you have it removed. If there is no power check the lines to the control, If the power is present with no actionon the panel then you will have to replace the board.

SOURCE: No pwer in Control panel but light is on the the dryer

You may have blown one of the two circuit breakers at the building fuse box. Sometimes they are physically linked together so that both trip at the same time. This is how it's suppose to work but sometimes one will trip leaving you with half power but enough to work the minor circuits. Resetting the circuit breaker is an easy fix. If this doesn't work ohm out the thermal fuses. They are ususally accessable by lifting the top. With it open check that all connector are connected.

SOURCE: dryer not working

Front Panel lights not working? Dryer inside light does work? I fixed this twice already on my dryer. Please read this whole explanation I live in New Orleans where the humidity is very high. I have a laundry room where my Washer and Dryer reside. Kenmore HE4T. I noticed that when I shut the laundry room door, my central A/C pulls hot air from outside the house via the dryer exhaust duct. This causes moisture to build on the inside of the dryer and especially the front control panel. Did you ever see moisture on your dryer?s door even when there were no clothes in it? The moisture collects on the Silicon board that controls the dyers function and basically causes a short. This is what I do to fix it. You will need a ¼ nut driver or socket. 1. Confirm that you have power to the dryer <- is the inside dryer light on when you open the door. YES- keep reading.. NO ? find the circuit breaker and reset it. 2. UNPUG THE DRYER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 3. Find the 3 screws in the back of the dryer that hold the dryer lid on. Unscrew them and slid the lid back and lift off. Is there moisture on the inside of the lid? 4. Find the 2 screws that hold down the front control panel. They should be silver and will be on top. Do not remove the inside gold screws. 5. Find the 3 screws that hold down the power control panel on the top left side of the dryer. Probably has a high voltage warning sticker on it. 6. Lift the power control panel (sheet metal) part and move it to the right so it lays on the dyers drum. There are some wires attached to it and unless you are a very handy person, I wouldn?t remove them. 7. Lift the front control panel straight up until it comes out of the dryer. There should be some wires that attach this piece to the power control panel. If you are handy, you can remove these 2 clip-on wires from the power control panel by squeezing the black connector locking clip and releasing it from the panel. 8. If you flip the control panel around you may notice moisture on the green silicon chips. Get a hairdryer and take your time to dry them. 9. Dry all components of the dryer with a hairdryer. 10. Put everything back together except for the lid and all the screws. Remember that the front control panel slides down first and then the power control panel sits on top second. Plug the dryer in and see if you get lights, but don?t start the dryer. Unplug the dryer and replace all the screws and the lid. The problem is that once the dryer gets wet from the moisture, it never dries enough for it to start working again. This is a bad design from Sears/Whirlpool. I learn my lesson that just because its more expensive doesn?t make it more better. I now keep my dryer and washer door open all the time even when there are no clothes in it. This lets the moisture escape into the house rather than collect in the dryer. I hope this helps at least one person. Thanks Jason Kennedy from New Orleans

is the other lights DIM(partially lit)?
If so it could be one of the following.
1.) Intermittent ribbon cables between the control board and the Interface board (one with the buttons) Reseat all four cables.
2.) faulty control board.
3.) faulty Input board.

SOURCE: We had a power surge

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
As you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. If it has continuity then it means that the control board is bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Samsung Dryer DV665JW has no Power. I already checked the plugs and Breaker system, they are okay but nothing happens when I press the power button. It is 4 years old. Is it worth repairing ?

First, when you say "no power", is the front panel display totally dead? If so, and you're sure 240v is getting to the back of the dryer where the power cord connects, then its most likely the main board has been blown--did you have a power outtage recently? They are notorious for damaging circuit boards. If the dryer lights up but won't do anything when you push the start button, check the door switch--it's a safety feature that won't allow the dryer to run with the door open. There are also thermal fuses inside which, if open, will kill the power. BTW, yes, the dryer is worth fixing--the cost of a repair won't be near what a new dryer will be.

My dryer is dead. I have ohmed out the cord and changed the dryer control board (8546219). Still dead, nothing at all. Any other ideas?

Hello,

The most probable thing thats wrong causing the dryer to not start is going to be a blown thermal fuse, when it goes out it cuts power to the motor circuit...do you have a display on the front yet it wont start???? or no display??

If you do have a display yet the dryer wont start it very likely will be the thermal fuse,it fits into the blower housing below where the lint filter fits into inside of the door. To access it to check it remove the small lower front panel and it will be on the top of the blower housing,to check it measure it for continuity (ohm it out) with zero ohms resistiance.
This is what it looks likeoldtech2332_116.jpg
If that turns out to be the problem be sure to take apart the blower asm. and clean all lint from it and also check the venting from the back of the dryer all the way to where it exits the house....since the usual reason the thermal fuse goes out is because of poor airflow because of built up lint/blocked vent.
