The printer will alert you when the cartridge is running low on the display of the unit itself and also on your computer screen in the lower right hand side corner with an error display. Each place will identify the cartridge that is running low until the level is too small to print. Then printing stops until the cartridge is changed.

Add toner see instructions in front cover to replace toner

Hi
You say you have checked the toner and there is "enough inside", I don't know how you can check this and the error suggests that the cartridge needs replacing. Have you tried a new cartridge ? This is the first step.
Is the cartridge you get the error with a Ricoh cartridge or a compatible. If compatible this could be the cause of your error.
Cheers

Error 10.10.00

Hi leslie,
First, is to reseat the toner cartridge and turn the machine off and back on. Second, obviously is to check and replace the toner cartridge. Like every other toner cartridge error majority of the time it's related to a third-party or rebuilt toner cartridge so replace the toner cartridge. Lots of times these errors happen right after people replace their toner cartridge. For some reason they believe because it's a new toner cartridge that can't possibly be the issue. For me that's a dead give away they have a bad cartridge. Before you call a technician in for service make sure you replace the toner cartridge with a new one first. Preferably with a OEM HP toner cartridge. Third, is to check the memory tag assembly, RM1-6284-000CN. Make sure it's properly seated in the machine and the contacts that mesh with the chip on the toner aren't bent. Finally, make sure that the memory tag connector is fully seated at connector J1703 on the ECU. The connector is behind the main cooling fan so it might need removed to check the connector.

Replace toner cartridge

I am not sure what you need help with tonight. Is it that you have already replaced one of the 4 toner cartridges and it keeps asking to replace it, or that you don't know how to open the left side of the printer to replace that toner cartridge?
If it's the former, the crum chip on the toner cartridge may be defective and is not being seen by the printer. That can usually be confirmed by another cartridge being installed and returning the one if it's still under warranty as a defective cartridge.

When any color cartridge finish , you must change the whole unit Why?????

No, you must change only the toner cartridge that has finished. It would be quite a waste to replace a toner cartridge that's not empty. Here are the codes for each cartridge, to know which one you need:
-CB540A Black Toner
-CB541A Cyan Toner
-CB542A Yellow Toner
-CB543A Magenta Toner

Remember to always use genuine cartridges.

OKI B4400 toner - is the chip reusable? I get toner not installed

The chip is not reusable and needs to be replaced every time. You should be able to find a chip on the internet somewhere. I own a Cartridge World printer cartridge refilling store and I do not recommend refilling your own toner cartridges or buying super cheap ones off the internet. The toner is generally such a low grade that it degrades your drum cartridge causing you to replace a $219 drum unit before you should have to.

Toner cartridge needs replacing in brother hl-20

if you want to replace your toner,
First you just need to open your front cover and pull out the toner and drum.
after that, push down the blue buttom on drum and pull out the toner. Then replace the new toner into the drum.
finally, just push back the drum and toner back into the printer.

Keeps showing J1 error, toner light is flashing

The J1 error means the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Since you just replaced the cartridge, you should remove the cartridge and repeat the following steps.. Shake the new toner cartridge horizontally four or five times and then remove the cover. Slide the new toner cartridge in until it locks in place. It sounds like the cover may still be on the cartridge.
