Yes, I'm a repairmen, but this one have me stumped. The compressor seems to work fine. I doubt if it's a bad board.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but a friend of mine swears he has the simple, inexpensive "fix" for this situation, and he claims it has worked on more than one refrigerator. He says that if you take a piece of copper wire (slightly thick), and wrap it around and connect both evaporator coils, it will help this situation.
Here's a suggestion for what it could be from homerepairforum.com:
Thanks Dan O. I spoke with a repair man and he suggested checking for heavy frost buildup in the back of the freezer compartment the next time this problem occurs. He said that the door ice dispenser outlet flap should also be checked as a source of warm moist air getting into the freezer compartment. Do you have any other suggestions that I should try to help determine the cause when the warming problem occurs again? FYI, I fortunately have an extra Fridge to store all the perishables while waiting for the problem to recur.

This web answer points to a possible bad defrost termination thermostat for GE units:

This might dispel my friend's solution, since it could create other problems.
Here is a site with the diagrams, parts lists, and manuals for this model:

Anyway, hope this helps you figure it out, and good luck.

Wow indeed, that is a very strange one. There is no ice build up on the freezer side at all though? And all fans are working properly? Hmm, let me know and I will research it further for you.

Strange indeed, so you sound like an appliance repair person then correct? Did you fully test the compressor unit itself and make sure it was fully operational? Otherwise I'd say it was the main board possibly malfunctioning on the temperature control, but you already covered that, unless somehow the new main-board is also bad, which I have seen in rare cases.

    Let me know,

Strange, still researching here to see what it could possibly be, without seeing it it's difficult to say. Discussing it with multiple people, will keep you apprised.

    Thanks

Ge profile refrigerator PSS27SGNA BS....unit's refrigerated section keeps freezing food. even after we've adjusted the temp up to 36 or 37(recommended) it stays at 30 and keeps ruining the produce.

Check the air damper at the back top left of the fresh foods section to see if the damper door has broken and thus not able to close. It is electrically operated, but if it breaks, you can have your exact condition occuer.

Can the fresh food drawers be disassembled?

yes they can be disassembled but it should not be special temperature drawer or zone which can be independetly controled otherwise you can change the temperature deviation in the compartment which can lead colder temp or below freezing .not good for the fresh food.
