Question about HP 2159M Monitor

1 Answer

Maybe you can help me out with a problem I am having with our monitor. It?s an HP 2159m LCD monitor?.we just bought it last year. A couple weeks ago, I turned our computer on (it?s a desktop)?.and the monitor flickered on, showed the opening screen, and then flickered off. It does that every time you turn it on. It has about 1 second on. Any ideas?!?!

Please check the video connections to make sure they are secure.
Some devices have the connections hanging straight down, and gravity works all over the planet.
If you have another monitor available, plug it in and check the computer's video output with it. If you get a picture with the alternate monitor, then you know the original monitor was the culprit.
It really does sound like a loose connection, but would not be surprised, you past the one year mark... that is when warranties expire.
good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

The technician was correct.

This problem is generally considered to not be economically feasible to repair. Your best bet would be to shop for a new TV.

Good luck.

I have an HP L2208w monitor which has been ok for the last two years. Suddenly, it started to display patches of different colours. Also vertical and horizontal colours appear across some pf these patches....

hi steven_katas

Im thinking that this maybe a LCD panel problem (dead pixels) already. some LCD panels last for 2-3 years depending on usage. even if you haven't dropped it or anything the LCD panel's pixels ten to give way slowly or die down since these pixels are like bulbs. here's what you can do. Try connecting a different cable from your monitor to your computer if the issue is still the same, try connecting a different computer or maybe a laptop to your monitor just to eliminate the probability that it can be a cable or a video card problem.
If you have already connected a new computer say a laptop and it is still the same it might already be a hardware problem with your monitor and might need you to bring it to the service center for repair.

Hope this helps please let me know

Hello: Just recently, the 2159m HP monitor goes to sleep in the middle of an activity. This happened on two desktops and different settings. Repalced the video card, adjusted settings, replsced DVI...

Check the cord and connections for the monitor; this has one wire that must have voltage on it or the monitor goes to sleep, and a broken wire or loose connection will fool it into thinking you are powering down. If this doesn't work try going into power options and setting monitor to never power down.

Is there any way to use headphones on the HP 2159m computer monitor? possibly external computer speakers? I have a desktop computer connected to the monitor by a HDMI cable.

There is no audio output on that monitor. So decoding the HDMI into analog is out. However, the simple fix is to plug your speakers or headphones into the green 3.5mm headphone jack on the back of your computer, and change the default audio device in windows. You can use both audio cards at once for different tasks, such as having someones voice come over your HDMI cable on the monitor, while listening to music on the audio out of your computer.

If you need any help setting the audio card, let me know.

Need help installing kodak esp-5 printer . I just bought an hp pavilion pc series 2159m. I cannot get printer to work.

Get the software/drivers from Epson http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=12998/12999&product=EKN035324

If you have installed the drivers before connecting the printer to the computer, try a new USB cable and plugging into a different port. If you use a print server or a hub, go for a direct connection. Make sure the printer is online and has good ink.

I hope this helps.

Have a new Acer LCD monitor -- will not power on.

I checked all cords connecting the monitor to the computer, made sure nothing was loose.  Then I re-booted the computer, and the monitor is on.
