Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
If the computer appears to be frozen in a program, the update will not do you any good.
Depending on how long you waited, I would invoke the task manager and see what process is hung up.
press ctrl/alt/del simultaneously only once, the task manager screen should appear, select the bottom option.
When the window pops up, select the far left tab (applications or programs) and see which is running or which is not.
If there is one or more that are not responding, terminate them by selecting them and clicking on the button end program.
You will get a warning, acknowledge it and continue.
If this was holding up your system, you should be able to restore your system to an earlier point using system restore.
If your system is COMPLETELY unresponsive, then you have no choice but to shut it down. hold the power button for 5 sec (default power down)
when the system comes back up, it will ask you how you would like to boot, (safe mode normal mode.....)
Select normal boot up.
Restore your system to the last restore point.
When your system is again functioning properly, create your new restore point, then try the update again.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
