Question about Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX Ride on Toy
The battery is behind the front grille, you have to remove the screw in the middle and then pull out on the green plastic clips on each side then fold down

Here are the printable instructions from the Perego website.
From what I can tell, there are levers on both sides of the grill that you press to flip the grill down to the ground. You can then get to the battery to pull it out and charge it.
Hope this helps!

Where the front bully bar is, there is an indent in the middle , enough for your phillips head screw driver to get into, you must undo that screw and there will be a tab on either side of that panel to pull and the front bummer assembly will hinge out towards you, you can then unplug the battery and connect your charger..

the peg perego gators have two switches in the shifter that need replaced.
I have replaced them before on my grandkid's gator.
Here is the website I get my parts from
You can also call them direct at 1.801.655.0800.
They seem to always know which part I need and I have always been very happy with their service.
Hope this helps

It is most likely the Gearbox, it is easy to find and easy to replace. It is right under the gear shifter and is a "harness" with wires that will need replaced, if you call the tech support for Peg Perego they are very helpful and will get you on the right track. Your old battery is most likely fine, but keep it until you fix the gearbox switch. Afterward (when gator is again operational) I would imagine you could return the new battery since you really should not need it. Peg Perego support is 1800-728-2108 and you can also look for parts at www.mypegperegoparts.com
