It's VERY easy as it turns out. The "cowling" or plastic cover over the hinge where the stand enters the back of the monitor just LOOKS like it's part of the back of the monitor. It actually pops right off if you just squeeze the sides of it, fit your fingernail under the edge and POP it right off. Once it pops off you'll see 4 screws. The rest is self explanatory. You don't even need to take the based of the stand off, it has nothing to do with

There are plastic covers where the hinges are, they will pop put to allow you to remove the stand mounting screws.

I have an Acer X223W, I need to pack it back in the original box. How do I take the stand off so it fits? Thank you!

If I am not mistaken this model has a screw on the bottom of the stand that secures the stand to the monitor.

What you need to do is to flip up the ring that is connected to the screw and then turn the screw in the anti-clockwise direction. Which will loosen the screw and allow you to remove the stand.

Take care!

I need to get a foot stand for my acer x233w 22" monitor. the acer company is useless. i have googled this and located nothing at all, anywhere. can you tell me where i might buy a stand? please help...

I have the same monitor (i really like it a lot), same problem: Monitor does not sit up high enough, and i needed it much higher.

I'm thinking the middle of the screen should be just about eye level.

I tried this and that but had to settle for about 20 or so large books 'n' magazines underneath my monitor, it doesn' look sexy but it certainly does the trick.

Get a better stand to hold the monitor. There is nothing wrong with the monitor, it's the operator.

More likely to be metric M4 screws, 1/2" will more likely to be long enough.

Acer 2223W monitor stand

There are indeed generic stands which rotate between portrait and landscape orientation. This monitor, like most monitors sold today, has generic "VESA" mounting holes, in the 100mm x 100mm (MIS-D, 100, C) configuration shared with most other flat screen PC monitors, so they can easily be used with a variety of stands that attach to the 4 holes in the center of the back side of the monitor.

Acer Monitor Stand removal

On the rear of the monitor stand, just 1/2" above the word "Acer", is a rectangular button. push it in and pull the stand off . If you need to remove the rectangular tube, there are two snap on covers, one on each side of the tube. Pop them off and remove the screws underneath. That's it.
