    Ok Tim,I'll try and get a DVD.But where do you think the cable could be a problem as it almost brand new?Is it more likely to be a cable connection issue?Mike.

    Ok well you will want to test it with some other kind of input, be it a DVD, video game system, or anything other than just TV, before I can determine for sure the issue. It sounds like the TV itself may be having LCD issues, but I hate to jump to that conclusion. It's very likely that it could be the actual cable source causing the problem, but without some other "source" to test with it's impossible to know for sure. If you need to, you may want to borrow someone's dvd player and test with that to determine the final issue here..

    It could be a connection issue, but unlikely if it just happened out of the blue one day. Are you using a cable box? If so they can go bad at a moments notice, if not, it could be something with the signal itself from the cable provider.

    Definitely test with an external peripheral like a DVD and get back to me and we will go from there. If you do have a cable box try calling your cable provider and tell them of the problem and see if they can reset the cable signal for you, or diagnose if the box has an issue. Even though it's brand new it can still go bad, I've seen them go bad within days of opening the box.

My led samsung tv has a horizontal line and the upper right corner shows a white vertical lines


Not good. You may have a tab failure. A repair shop may be able to diagnose and repair this, but most likely the lcd panel is broken. The panel is the most expensive part of flat tv's. A new panel will cost more than a used tv.

Picture ok with a 6 inches blue vertical line from top to botton


For a five or 7 inch band we have a fix. Six is a big problem. A vertical band is either a sync condition requiring an adjustment of one or more pots on the circuit board. Usually the condition is Horizontal and rarely up and down the screen. LED is generally very reliable and two of 3 colors within the diode in your case (one red and one green) are not working. If this TV is in Warranty, replace it as you cannot fix this yourself.

only horizontal line it is a vertical section failure. caution keep brightnenn as low as possible till it is rectified & you put on tv before it this just to avoid screen burn. solution 1 check for loose contact or crack print or loose deflection coil connector. 2 check supply to vertical section. 3 check vertical ic. 4 vertical (50)Hz signalto vertical section. good luck

This looks like it could be a problem with leakage of the 60Hz vertical scan frequency into the picture this is also called 60Hz hum. What usually causes this is poor filtering on the power supply or decoupling capcitors in the vertical section have begun to malfunction. This problem is easy to fix if you have the equipment to isolate the problem, I would suggest that you take this set to a TV repair shop to have it analyzed and repaired.
