TV has no sound or picture. Screen is black. Power supply appears to be ok.
    What else can I do

  • Anonymous Mar 17, 2014

I purchased an Element Electronic model number ELEFT326 in December of 2013. Shortly after I purchased it the screen would have little glitches where it would go black, but after turning it on and off, the screen would remain on. This happened only a few times so we didn't think much of it. It suddenly started going black constantly and now the picture won't come on at all. Is there anything I can do from my end to fix this or is it something inside the television that can't be fixed by a novice? Any help would be appreciated!

Hiiiiiii here shivam
i want to tell you that that same problem is occuring my computer but now it is fixed
but your problem is of tv don't worry is this is help full to you--

this problem is common on this model. your vertical output circuit has gone bad. but i am sorry to say that a repair cost is to much for a tv this age. a cost would range 100-150. i say invest this into a newer tv. this model was good for 10-12 years and you have got better than that.
good luck :)
let me know if you need more info?

How old is your LCD?
It can be fix. if you are handy with tools like a soldering iron, multimeter and capacitance meter; is easy repairable.
Most failures like this one are located in the power supply section.
You should measure the 5 volts when the LCD is on, if you get less then 3.5 volts, you should inspect the capacitors that filter the 5 volts DC for bulging or leaky conditions.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

If the repair will cost you 1/3 of the price of the TV, is a good price.

    TROUBLESHOOTING

    General

A general guide to troubleshooting a flat panel display system it is worth considering the system as separate elements, such as:

    􀂾 Controller (jumpers, PC settings)

􀂾 Panel (controller, cabling, connection, PC settings)

􀂾 Backlight (inverter, cabling, backlight tubes)

    􀂾 Cabling

􀂾 Computer system (display settings, operating system)

Through step by step cross checking with instruction manuals and a process of elimination to isolate the problem it is usually

possible to clearly identify the problem area.

    No image:

􀂾 If the panel backlight is not working it may still be possible to just see some image on the display.

􀂾 A lack of image is most likely to be caused by incorrect connection, lack of power, failure to provide a signal or incorrect

    graphic card settings.

    Image position:

􀂾 If it is impossible to position the image correctly, ie the image adjustment controls will not move the image far enough, then

test using another graphics card. This situation can occur with a custom graphics card that is not close to standard timings

or if something is in the graphics line that may be affecting the signal such as a signal splitter (please note that normally a

signal splitter will not have any bad effect).

    Image appearance:

􀂾 A faulty panel can have blank lines, failed sections, flickering or flashing display

􀂾 Incorrect graphics card refresh rate, resolution or interlaced mode will probably cause the image to be the wrong size, to

scroll, flicker badly or possibly even no image.

􀂾 Incorrect jumper settings on the controller may cause everything from total failure to incorrect image. CAUTION: Do not

set the panel power input incorrectly.

􀂾 Sparkling on the display: faulty panel signal cable.

I think it is more than a Kool-Aid stain. likely it was some kind of heat applied to the screen causing physical damage. How does it appear when the screen is white?

Sanyo vizon liquid spilled on back & will not turn on now

You can attempt to recover it by either filling up a tub of white rice and leaving it sit there for a few days to a week, or you can put it near a heater to try and evaporate any remaining liquid. These steps will only work if the spill is very recent. It is possible that an internal circuit has been shorted, or an internal fuse blown. If either of these have occurred you will need to have it serviced by a professional. Contact Sanyo to locate a nearby location.

27' vizon tv black screen

It seems to be a PSU (Power Supply Unit) problem. When you unplug it and replug, the screen comes on for a moment. That means that the capacitor does not hold charge for long. Open the back and look for bulged or burst capacitors on the module where the power cord meets inside. Replace the whole module if you can not replace the capacitor with exactly the same specs.

My friend T.V. it blinks when you turn it on he has a sanyo vizon it's a L.C.D. flat screen

Probably overheated. Inadequate air circulation. Nothing you can do now. If it's less than 1 year old Sanyo might replace it w/ a refurb. I'd contact them. http://us.sanyo.com/
