With the power OFF repeat POWER OFF GENTLY insert the paper clip until the drive tray starts to move open make sure you are pushing clip in the right hole, and when the clip is inside make sure you feel it touch a button that you can apply a little pressure to so, wiggle the clip around until you feel it resting on a button then push it in, suppose to eject the cd tray

Cd won t eject

Go to start in the bottom left hand corner and then click on computer. A box will open, in that box you should see your cd drive listed. Double click on it and it should open up the tray.

Disc drive won't open

CD/DVD drive?

Some have a tiny hole, right under the tray that comes out. Use a paperclip in the hole to manually open the tray.

(Some desktop computer towers have a door in front, that needs to be eased open first, then access to the actual CD/DVD drive unit can be obtained)

Somethhing got stuck in the dvd/cd burner

Many computers have a small hole in the door to the dvd/cd drive. It is the perfect size to put a paperclip into. Straighten a paperclip and poke the end into the hole, this forces the door open. Hope this helps

The DVD/CD drive won't open

There's a little hole in the front of the dvd drive (it may be behind the flip down cover). Stick a paperclip in the hole while pushing the eject button.

How do I put in a CD? Pushed eject button but nothing happens.

It is possible that the drive is temporarily jammed. There should be a release switch, a small hole the size of a pin.use a paperclip to open. If it doesn't work after that, replace the drive.

if the cd drive is bad replace it...if there is a disc that you need you can open it with a paperclip...gather up a paperclip (or something close to the same size) if you look on the front of the drive there is a tiny hole...unwind the paperclip straightening it out and slide the paperclip in the hole...it should open with no problem

CD\DVD drive is stuck and will not open

Did you try the paper clip treatment?

There is usually a small pin hole somewhere on the front of such devices. Insert a straightened paperclip and release the internal catch.

I hope this works for you

Cd drive will not open when button is pressed

Locate a very small hole on the drive. Try using a pin into the very small hole on the CD drive of the system. This will help in opening the drive.

HP Pavilion a1540n drawer won't open

If you are talking about the CD bay take a paperclip and bend it straight; take the paperclip and poke it into the hole you find on the drive - if you push that button in it will force the tray open. If the tray doesn't open with power I would go ahead and open the case and make sure that it has power. You may need a new drive - i'm just fixing your immediate problem of getting the thing open (in case you have a cd you need out of it)
