This may not be what you wish to hear but... I suspect that the reason you have had to change timers is that a user is turning the dial counterclockwise. This will ruin the timer in one fell swoop as it bends over the contacts inside the timer and caused immediate failure. I have seen this in a few homes where the home owner had mentioned that this is the 3rd timer we have changed in as many years. In every one of the cases I asked them to select various cycles as I watched on the OLD timer. All of them at least once turned the timer CCW. Once I explained that they never turn the timer CCW.... the repeated failures stopped. Some people just never knew that it was bad to turn the timer CCW. That may be the case here. So timer rotation is ALWAYS Clockwise to avoid repeated timer changes.
I would not give up on it yet... You have barely reached mid life for the washing machine you own. At roughly $125.00 for the replacement part I can understand your concern.

It is your decision as to where to go from here. As a repair / tech I would not shoot it in the head just yet. I would look into how people are using the machine controls.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Trying to replace timer on Kenmore 700 washing machine (model 110.28727200). The existing timer is an Invensys model W10129602. Where can I find replacement or substitute parts?

Here is the timer to order. To remove the knob on the old timer, from the back of the timer there is the knob pin that you push in and it will release the the knob.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

I have a Whirlpool Washer (Model: LXR6232EQ0). It will start washing & then stop. After pulling the timer out & pushing back in, the washer resumes operation. This happen 3-4 times per cycle. ...

You are correct in assuming that the timer is going out. It is fairly easy to replace, you simply take the upper back part off of the washer and remove the screws that hold the timer in place and reinstall the new one.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer- when it spins it makes horrible, LOUD, grinding and rubbing noises, yet nothing is leaking and the machine is in balance so it doesn't "travel". What's wrong...

Hello,Most likely this will be the drum bearings.
Bearings normally last quite a long time but some will fail sooner than others. Quite often bearing failure is due to a faulty drum shaft seal which allows a small amount of water through and in to the bearings. The bearings then start to rust, which then accelerates the wear on the bearings.

Replacing the bearings needs well above average DIY skills to do, so unless you feel confident to tackle the job, can get hold of a tech manual, and can get hold of new bearings, it's time to call an engineer for a quote and then draw your own conclusions as to whether it's worth it.
