Is this central cooling, a split system, or a wall unit?

How do I get my AC running again? Ruud UBHC AC unit isn't running. Started yesterday or today.

Sounds like there is no control voltage. Either the transformer to reduce the voltage from 110 volts to 24 volts is not producing the 24 volts needed for control voltage, or most furnaces have a small 3 or 5 amp fuse mounted on the main control circuit board that may be blown. Other "outside circumstances" may involve a break in the thermostat wire...more than likely the red wire if you are getting nothing to work. I have seen evidence of "critters" that have chewed through the low voltage thermostat wiring that would keep the thermostat from controlling anything. To check this, go to the furnace and jumper the red & green wire to get the fan running just to isolate if it is a thermostat wiring severred. Good Luck.

Flashing snowflake

The flashing snowflake means it is in the cooling mode, but is waiting for itself to 'time out' after a call for cooling. It should be about a 5 minute delay then should come on automatically. At that poing, the flashing snowflake becomes steady.

Try it one more time and set the timer on your smart-phone to ten minutes before you touch it again. If that time elapses and no cooling and it is still flashing there's possibly a problem in the thermostat that will necissitate replacement.

Snowflake symbol and filter message

That symbol usually means that the a/c unit inside the house has frozen over and it won't start working again until after the ice has melted. I would recommend hiring a repair guy for it though. I had this problem and even after it melted the a/c would still go wonky from time to time. There's a part that you might need replaced on the outside unit.

check for power at unit, as it may be the disconnect fuse/breaker. The only other thing is the main board, but it sounds like there is no power to the unit. I hope this helps Tim

Have a Ruud AC unit the problem I have after installing a new condenser fan motor when I throw the circuit breaker the unit will not turn on but when I push the contacts on the contactor in manualy the fan...

The contactor engages from low voltage power from the thermostat as does the outside condensing unit. You may have blown the low voltage transformer or have a loose thermostat wire. Check line voltage(220 volts) to the transformer. Check load voltage(24 volts) from the transformer. If no voltage out, replace the transformer. If you have voltage out(24) check the thermostat wires and the thermostat. If you have a digital thermostat there is a 5 minute delay in the thermostat after power is restored before it activates.

Hello

Okay did you check your thermostat to see if you have the fan switch on auto? The switch must be on auto or the fan will continue to run. If the thermostat fan switch is on auto then there is a malfunction in the thermostat probably. You can go to your forced air unit and on unplug the unit. That way it will not turn on at all, because the forced air unit is controlled by the thermostat. Hope this helps.

If you have a Gas furnace in the Attic then the answer is yes. The outside condenser will not run if in fact you have a gas furnace.

I changed the filter on my ruud 1x2000 the other day did not try to turn on until yesterday.tried ac nothing then tried heat nothing. changed termastat still nothing.

is this a whole house air conditioner ,
if so check the fuse panel,
check to see if the outside unit runs at all , compressor or fan.
check the ac transformer power to the thermostat
check the switch in the ac closet
doe the internal fan run if you switch to fan only.
