I can definately help with your ID code problem, and maybe with your vista problem.
The ID problem is very simple. Normally when this happens, the copier is set up to use ID codes for copying. When you install the driver, it connects to the machine and collects these type of settings, and configures the driver to the same state as the copier. You have two options to solve this problem. you can either turn off the ID codes in the driver completely, but then your copier must be set to allow print jobs without ID codes, or you can configure the driver with your code, and set it so that it does not ask you again.
both of the options are done by going to the printer driver properties. Click on the "device setting" tab at the top.
If you want to disable the ID codes completely, simply untick the "job accounting" box. click on "Apply" and then on "OK"
If you know your code and you want to configure the driver with your ID code and set it to never ask you for the code again do the following:
Make sure that the "Job accounting" box is ticked. Click on the "settings" button to the right of "job accounting". In the window that appears tick "Allow password setting". Enter your ID code and password (If you have a password), and untick "Confirm ID/password when printing". If you like you can click on the "verify" button. This will check that the ID and password that you've entered is valid or not. This is very handy feature if you are unsure if you've entered the correct info. When you're done with the afore mentioned settings, click on "ok", "Apply" (If active), and then on "OK"
Now for your vista problem. I'm not too sure of the exact problem that you're experiencing, but from what I can make out from your description it sounds like its a driver issue. I would say go to the canon software site and download the x64 driver for your product. The URL for the site is : http://software.canon-europe.com
. once you are on the site all you need to do is specify your model, the operating system (In your case Windows Vista) and the language that you want the software to be in. The site will supply you with a list of different software that you can download, make sure that you download the Vista x64 driver. The site will clearly state that the driver is compatible with x64.
Hope all this info is helpful. Have fun, and don't forget to rate me.
