Question about Golden Technologies Health & Beauty

1 Answer

Our Liteway scooter has been unused for a couple of years. We purchased a new battery and charged it up but it won't run. The freewheel device is in place and we've done all the troubleshooting we know per the manual. The battery level shows the scooter is fully charged. The red indicator light blinks three quick times then blinks regularly. Any advice? Thanks.

Terry, did you replace both batteries? If you did check your wiring connections on the batteries. Make sure that the polarity of the wiring is correct( red to positive and black to negative) and if you replaced just one battery then you have to replace the other one also. Once you have 2 new batteries installed and have made sure the wiring is correct. Turn on the scooter and see if you still get the flashing lights look at your manual and see that the 3 flashes mean a short between the batteries and the motor. If you continue to get the error you will have to contact your local provider or a service company to check the scooter.. Hope this helps

Why doesn't it move or do anything?

Mobility Scooters have a freewheel lever that allows you to push the scooter by hand instead of under power. the Freewheel lever must be in drive for the scooter to be driven under power. it is located under the seat or back right side of the scooter.
note: There are a couple scooters out there that have electrically operated freewheel feature, those are rare.

I installed new batteries and scooter still doesn't run, why?

Check the wiring from the controller to the motor, disconnect the wire ad clean the connections with a contact cleaner or WD40 , and make sure the scooter not in freewheel mode.

My wife has an Invacare Auriga, it was not charged over winter, therefore batteries went flat. I bought 2 new batteries and fitted them, but when I switch the key on, the left hand light on the dash panel...

Check that you are not in freewheel. If you can push the scooter easily and the rear wheels roll then you are in freewheel. Move the lever to drive postion and turn the scooter on to see if that fixed the problem Hope this helps

I need to replace the battery case for my Golden tech liteway scooter. Or i need to see a wiring diagram. Can you help?

This scooter requires (2) 12 volt 15 Ah batteries. Typically you would open the case and replace the two batteries inside not the entire case and batteries.
Locate the screws that hold the case together and open it. Make a diagram of the how the batteries are connected. Obtain the new batteries locally or on-line, install and fully charge.
Hope this helps.

The (new) batteries indicate from the charger that they are fully charged yet only go for 1 mile before indicator goes 'red".

diane how far did ya used to go with a full charge? Just because the provider said the batteries are new doesn't mean they are new coulda sat on the self for 6 months. New batteries can go bad or in your case probably just one is bad. batteries should be under warranty contact the place you bought them and have them check them for you make sure they are fully charged when they pick them up. Hope this helps

Battery .the charged light is on but no power

Ross I'm a little confused by your problem what charged light? Do you mean the battery level lights are all lit and it won't move. Or is the charger light on the charger and it won't move?
If you have charged the scooter and the battery lights show full charge then check to make sure that you are not in freewheel. If you are not in freewheel then the problem could be the throttlepot or speed control pot or the cable running to the rear from the console. It is difficult to tell you exactly what the problem is because it could be one or multiple problems. I suggest you contact your provider (where you got the scooter) and see if they can check it for you. Now if Medicare purchased your scooter for you you can call a service company to get it repaired. I was going up steep hill and it shut off. Won't go on at all.

This is highly unusual, so I would like you to check a few things first:

Thermal overload. Most scooters when pressed too hard will overheat and trip the breaker. This is to protect the scooter. If this happens, you wait 5 minutes and reset the breaker.

Reinstall the battery pack.
Turn on the unit.
Does an L.E.D. start flashing on the dashboard?
If so, what sequence?
If not, when was the last time the batteries were charged?
Fully charge the batteries.

If none of this helps, contact the dealer you purchased this from or Golden Technologies technical service department. 1-800-624-6374 Ext 501

Hi, I take it been taken then, do you get a error codes ?

see below

The diagnostic flash codes for your scooter are designed to help you perform basic troubleshooting quickly and
easily. A diagnostic flash code will flash from the status LED in the event one of the conditions listed below
NOTE: Your scooter will not run unless the flash code condition is resolved and the scooter has been
turned off, then turned back on.
Any electromechanical device occasionally requires some troubleshooting. However, most of the problems that
may arise can usually be solved with a bit of thought and common sense. Many of these problems occur because
the batteries are not fully charged or because the batteries are worn down and can no longer hold a charge.
