Dynex 7.1 Sound Card Problem

I have a Dynex 7.1 sound card which has now been discontinued. Last week end we purchased a new flat screen monitor, it works great but since we went through the "found new hardware" wizard we no longer have sound. I have removed the drivers and reinstalled, 3 times. Pulled the sound card out and reinstalled, reloaded the drivers and pulled the most recent available driver for Windows 2000 from the internet. Still NO sound....I am at the point of sending this computer for a short walk off a long dock. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes, the sound card worked when we first upgraded the monitor. Then after completing a Windows Automatic update; we lost all sound. Moved the old sound card to a new slot; still no sound. Went out and bought the new Dynex 5.1 soundcard, installed in the original location and NO sound. Moved to a new slot and we now have sound. Appears it was a combination of the slot being wonky along with the sound card possibly dying. Anyway we now have sound again and are good to go. Thanks for reviewing.

My pc sound card dose not working in window 7 and model is ct4780

Unfortunately Creative Labs has discontinued support for that model sound card. There is no Windows 7 driver as the last driver released for it was in 2005.

You'll need to purchase a newer sound card. A Windows 7 Compatible sound card starts in the $25 range.

Can not install Creative Sound Blaster Live! (CT4830) 5.12.01.383 in windows 7

The CT4830 is a pretty old sound card (end-of-life in the early 2000s), and Creative no longer offers any updated drivers for it. If the XP drivers won't work with Windows 7, your only option is to purchase a new card that will.

I have a Dynex DX-SC5.1 Sound Card. Is their a driver for windows 7 I can get ?

Smarty Go to this address http://www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=1201 The drivers for the card there are the same for the Dynex card. This is a 199% sure fix.

I cannot get any sound out of my speakers and I have installed a Dynex 5.1 sound card.

You probably need to make sure the new sound card is properly installed. Check device manager and make sure the new sound card does not have a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

If the card and driver are propery installed, then you can either disable the onboard audio from BIOS (enter this when the computer first boots up by pressing either F2 or delete several times)

Or
go to control panel, sound, and check the sound card as the default. Do this for .WAV and .MIDI and whatever else you see.

And that should take care of it.

Dynex soundcard is installed however my pc still has no sound!

Hi Sammantha78,

I had a similar problem with my computer and I went and bought new sound card and installed it and I still had no sound. I then went and bought a new set of speakers and now i got sound. I suggest you test another set of speakers on your computer to see if it’s not your Altec Lansing speakers that is not working.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong
