Did this fix your problem? I'm having the same issue and have disconnected everything, but it keeps switching inputs by itself. It happens randomly. Does anyone have another solution?

  • Hari Shankar Sep 24, 2011

This doesn't help. I have been having this issue for the past 8 months or so. I was even thinking of removing the panel (that contains the channel, volume, and power buttons) at the back on the right bottom, and checking the things. But, did not have enough time to spend on this. Anyone has similar problems and has been able to get it resolved?

I have the same issue with my Sharp TV. It just started out of the blue. The TV is only about 3-4 years old.

I have the same problem with my LC42SB45U. I have notice soon as I plug it to the wall outlet the tv turns on automatically. After a few minutes the input comes up and constantly scrolls through the input menu. I have called sharp with this issue and all they said was to take it to a repair show. I am trying to fix this on my own and it seems I can not find a solution to this problem.

I have a Sharp LCD that keeps changing inputs and will randomly turn itself on.

Sounds like you have another infared source that the LCD is seeing. Put opaque tape over the infared receiver and see if the issue continues. Look for another IR device in the area.

Could be the button board which has power and input buttons. If they are stuck down or failing electronically they could be telling your TV to continuously turn off or change inputs.

I would check the video setting on your laptop. The resolution or refresh rate might have been changed and the LCD TV might not be able to process the signal. Try changing the laptop's resolution to the lowest setting(right-click on desktop and pick properties) and see if the TV produces a picture. Also verify the video output on the laptop is working by hooking it up to a computer monitor if available.

Sharp Aquos Resolution

According to the manual for the TV, you need to change the resolution on the computer itself first.
The computer resolution should be 1024 X 768 at 60Hz or 1360 X 768 at 60Hz.

After the adjustment made on the laptop, then try the resolution change option.

Want to change my sharp hd tv from 480i to 1080p

You Can Not Change. The TV Recognize the signal on the INPUT.
If the signal is 480i than the tv shows 480i
If the signal is 1080p than the tv shows 1080p (if supported)
If you try with your areal antenna (for now digital broadcast is maximum 1080i (in USA) The TV itself doesnt "upconvert" lower resolution signals.

Sharp tv changing channels

Well, the only thing that seems to be working so far is to plug AV cables into the "input 2" ports (on the front of TV). I plugged in my PS2, without turning it on. It has not switched at random since (about 30 minutes - it had been switching off and on for the past 2 hours). Anyone else have similar success?
