What does the repeating code of two blinks, then one blink mean. Is there a part number or picture of whre the part is that needs replaced.

THE error codes are not part specific--2,1 is X-ray protection---means the High voltage to the 3 picture tubes the set uses is going too high--excessive high voltage and the tubes start to produce X-ray radiation---before we continue (if you want) I suggest you unplug the set for a short time and plug it back in and try to turn on again--do the self check again to confirm the error code is 2 blinks and one blink for 5 times---easy to misread it the first time--also what skill level do you have? I never know that unless I ask. If you have a volt meter and time I can help you. I know for example online where I can get for free the full service manual with diagrams etc. Keep in mind I do this here on FIXYA FOR FREE.

When the power light comes on and then goes out, on the front of the set press both the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time and hold them both in for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light will blink a 2 digit error code and repeat it at least 5 times.

The most common error will be 2 blinks, 2 blinks- a pause and then it will repeat it for a total of at least 5 times.

To get it to repeat this--you have to unplug the set, try to turn it on again and repeat the process.

The error codes are to try to narrow down where the problem is.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Post comment here if I can assist you further.

You can unplug set and plug back in and double check--this will clear error buffer.

2,1 is X-ray protection---it means a problem in High Voltage circuit of set, usually it means too high a voltage is being developed.

There is one other thing you may want to do a visual look at, It is called Glycol. You know about this issue this and other Mitsubishi sets have?

YES, I am about to go offline.

Glycol is a liquid used to cool each of the three picture tubes this set uses. These sets have a history of it leaking onto the circuit boards. I will return here tomorrow after noon Pacific time and explain to you.

Hi I have a brand new 320 GB PS3, barely a month old. Worked up until today when all I'm getting is "no signal". I've tried using other HDMI leads (component also) and TV's (mine is a Samsung...

Try these steps first -

Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later. Release the power button when you hear this second beep

Wait for the PS3 to reset its display.

This will now choose the best setting for your TV and everything should be ok.

If you still get problems, go back to where you purchased it from or contact Sony, as it is under a year old it is still within warranty laws etc

Hope this helps

Picture stays on black

I had this same exact issue yesterday. I own the same TV model and here is what SONY had me do to get the picture back. Ultimately the picture comes back, but it will be very dim and needs repair. Most likely a power supply issue. Try these steps:

-Press power off or leave with standby light on for 5 minutes (wait the full 5 minutes)
-Unplug TV / Press top buttons 5 times each to remove static from system boards (yes, each button 5 times each)
-Wait one full minute and plug TV in and press power on

Using a monitor
1..connect computer/media center to your monitor,
2 click on nvidia nview display settings,
3, select the current display tab and samsung,
4 then apply,
5,then when the confirmation box appears click yes within 15 seconds.

Using your samsung.
Attach a scart to your media centre, from your t.v with the p.c cable still attached, turn over using the source button until you can see a pc picture on your screen (EXT1or2), do steps 2 & 3 THEN move your cursor to the apply button (do not move the cursor from this position), press your source button till you get PC channel (which has no picture yet) then press your mouse button to apply, ( your picture will flicker on), and before the picture goes confirm with the yes button. You now have light! eureka :)

Sony FWD50PX2/S 50 in. Plasma Television power problem

It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.
