Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

1 Answer

My wireless keypad stopped working. I replaced the battery. It worked 1x and hasn't worked since. I'm able to program remotes. The keypad is backlit and flashes when I enter the code or try to program it. The wall controller is not locked. Do I need to replace the wireless keypad? Thank you

I would make sure the battery contacts are clean and not corroded. Otherwise a new keypad is most likely the answer. Just FYI the keypad will still work when the wall control is locked.

How do I check a wireless garage door keypad, to see if it is transmitting?

These remotes don't loose the programming code when a battery goes dead, most likely the remote or the board on the opener went bad, do any other remotes work? You can take the remote to an auto parts store and test it there. (They have a tester for key fobs)

Remote pad is blinking but not working, blinks about 15 times before it stops. Tried to take the battery out and replace it but didn't help. please help Thanks Aj

You can try programming the keypad but if that doesn't work you will need to replace it if your other remotes work okay.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

Keypad lights flash, wont open with code. Wall button and remote work.

You need to do a remote and opener re synch, because your rolling synch codes were lost when you replaced the batteries. Go to manufacturers web site for re program instructions.

Remote/homelink and touchpad problem

Your keypad is not the same "generation" as your remotes. You operator will work with your security plus remotes or your old keypad but not both. Yor cheapest solution is to replace your keypad.
