  • When performance test is ran, the processor and other hardware resources are used as much as possible. So please check whether the processor gets over heat or any problem with memory modules. If the problem is with memory module, try to test it one by one running some memory diagnostic software, which can run on boot disk.

Take care.

I lost my cd recovery for vista home premium provided by lenovo. is there any free download for this. thank you

Hi,
I don't think there is a free download for any Operating System from Lenovo. If you are looking for a specific driver for your device, you can go here and select the model of your machine then download the provided driver for your device. Make sure you choose the correct Operating System to avoid problems.
Hope this helps.

My CD drive (DVD RW) is not working. It fails to recognise any kind of CD. I think its driver is not working properly. Please help me.My laptop is LENOVO ideapad, model Y510.

You can go to the lenovo site (lenovo.com)

Clcik on support on the menu
Then choose download drivers
Enter your domel number, etc and choose the proper driver for your OS
Download it and install it.
That may take care of it. If not:

right click my computer and choose manage
click on device manager
Find your CD drive in the list and right click it
It may list "upadte drive" in that list. If not choose "properties"
There should be a tab called drivers - choose that one and switch your driver

Hope that works.

Without a recovery disk, you have a big problem. The Vista Key is locked to Lenovo so you need a Lenovo Vista CD.

You could screw around and hope that you get something out of Lenovo to fix your problem but I would seriously look at installing Windows 7 Home Professional. It is much better than Vista. With 2GB you should be OK, but more memory wouldn't hurt.

Vist slow

Try increasing your RAM to 2GB ... 1GB is barely enough to run the OS, let alone an app or two.
