You need to be a bit more specific & detailed in your problem for me to help.
Does the error accour when booting up (before or after bios?)
or when your Operating system has loaded?
Do you get a blue screen? what does the error say
Exactly?

ERROR 0175: Bad CRC1, stop POST task message Been using my IBM a30 laptop for some months but was surprised to get this error when i tried putting it on this message pops up ERROR 0175:BAD CRC1 STOP POST...

You obviously didn't read the problem carefully. The machine won't boot, so there is no command line. I have the same problem with a T23. It might be the CMOS battery that needs to be replaced.

MY laptop beep twice and flag error code Bad CRC1, stop POST task

Hi,

sounds as if one of your memory modules is defect.
CRC stands for Cyclic Redundancy Check and is a form of checking the memory.
If you have two modules inside, take on out and see what happens.

Best regards

It says "a disc read error occurred" press ctrl+alt+delete..... this is right at the start....it wont do anything now. help.....

Make sure you do not have a floppy diskette, CD or DVD inserted, or a USB drive plugged in. If the error continues, either your hard drive has a loose connection, has lost data, or has stopped working entirely.
You would need to remove it and put it in a USB enclosure and plug it into another computer for testing, or take it to an expert. Sorry. Best of luck.

Ibm notbook. how will i solve "bad crc1, stop post task. with an error code 0175?

The POST error code 0175 refers to a CRC (cyclic redundancy check) reading from the EEPROM chip, that data is corrupted, most likely a faulty EEPROM chip. This is a motherboard problem and cannot be fixed except by a motherboard replacement. This is an old laptop and would not be worth fixing, I suggest you put your money towards a new laptop.
You can remove the hard drive and put it into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.
