This happen to me more than once, the latest today (may 25 08)at 9pm. Tmobile will tell you how sorry they are and that's about it. I am on my second dash and second battery.
Try to hold both top keys (between call green and hung up red) while you are pressing on the shut off switch for 2 seconds. Whe it comes back to life, everything will have erased but supposedly, the phone will be like new.

The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.

Be warned that if you use this method most of the data on the phone will be lost, like text messages and etc. Your contacts should be fine as the are stored on the SIM Card and if you have been syncing your contacts with your PC then they should get loaded when you do the up
bigsphinx, I too am having the exact same problem on both my phone and my wife's too, about once a month it just locks up then after a soft reset it just gets stuck on the green screen. I called support and they said I just have to do a hard reset, which loses everything :(
So for now I always backup (using PIMBackup) to my SD card for the next time it happens.
Turn the phone off, remove the battery for a minute. Replace the battery.
Hold down the right and left soft menu keys simultaneously then press the power button for a couple seconds and release. Keep holding down the soft keys until the hard reset screen displays.
The reset screen will tell you to press 'Send' to reset or any other key to cancel. Press and hold 'Send', which is the button with the green phone on it. After a couple seconds, the device will start to do its thing.
This will take some time so be patient. It will have a question or two as it goes through the process. Answer.
Don't worry, you won't lose your branding (e.g. if you are a tmo customer, you don't lose the ability to have myfavs and your phone keeps the tmo branding/settings).
Mine does the samething. I'm running 6.1 and have found the problem to be the system fails to read the sd card on boot. When I reset my memory I don't put the sd card in until the system has booted back to the start screen. Works fine everytime.
when this happens take the battery off for 15 seconds and put it back. try to do this atleast once a week. cell phones is just like a computer that need to be reboot. let me know if this solved your problem.
do a sw reset. turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
I just tried it too. It wouldn't work at first, but this is what i did. At first i kept pushing the softkeys first and then the power button, but you have to do them the opposite way.
Push and hold the on button and as soon as you do that, hold down the (-) two softkey menu select buttons (above the home and <- buttons)
it will take you to the black screen that says its going to reconfigure
then you push the green talk button
it'll look like it freezes again, but its really booting up. so leave it alone. mine took 5 minutes to finish. i really didnt think it was going to work again. but YAY! it did..
