Have key for win 7 microsoft says not valid any advice

you need a valid windows key to run windows 10. if you upgraded from win 7 your key would be valid. its a trip to microsoft to validate win 7 key or new key purchase.

You can contact microsoft and they will be able to validate this for you with a new key.

Make sure you have all your data backed up
Also make sure you have your re installation disk and proper cd keys to perform a clean install.

power your unit - press F9 for boot options - insert your 7 disk into cd rom and choose boot from CD-ROM. Follow instructions provided from install disk.

Use the help Press F1 and state the question.

It may be that it simply has not yet been given the BillGates tick of approval. If it is an OEM copy of Windows the key (Certificate of Authority or COA) for it will be on a sticker there somewhere on the computer, or packaging. One place they hide it is in the battery compartment (if any).

If you have no key or did not purchase this Win 7 installation, then, well, you have been sprung, sorry. You will probably have to spend some money. If you did purchase it and cannot find a key, seek assistance from the seller.

Windows will start degrading with time. Eventually it will cease to function. You need a valid install. Check your MS Product Key sticker for what OS should be installed, and have license for.

you can go to the microsoft site to upgrade to windows 7, or you can buy the operating system and use that to upgrade..as the O/S is yours and has a product key # you will be asked to validate your win 7 by microsoft and you can recieve update all the time.

Your license is still valid but you have to call Microsoft ( 1-800-805-4440) and provide them your product id so that they can generate the a new windows XP key for you or may be they will offer you Windows 7. Anyhow, you do not have to buy a new Windows XP key.

You should have received a valid license-key when you purchased a copy of Windows 7. Or, if you downloaded an "evaluation-copy", you knew that it would expire at some date, when you installed it.

Call 1-800-R-U-LEGIT, and have your credit-card ready.

You can get Activation code for winXp from Microsoft website or authorized reseller. But win Xp will no longer be supportedby microsoft after June. You need to get a Win 7 OS and Activation Code.
