I will advice you Press and hold the "Resume" button on the printer. Press and hold the "Power" button while holding down "Resume."
Release the "Resume" button. Press "Resume" twice. The indicator light will turn amber followed by green.
Release the "Power" button. Press the "Resume" button four times.
Press the "Power" button. The printer is now reset, and your printer should work fine.

Take care.

My Pixma MX860 is making a horrible clattering noise & I am getting an error message code of 5C20. What is the problem?

Defective print cartridge, not inserted properly

Or could be a defective print head that has worked loose and the clattering you hear is caused by it jamming, follow link above and check and reseat the head

To resolve this error we need to reset the Printer.

Please follow these steps to do the same:

1.On the operator panel, press the button. (The display will go blank.)
2. Unplug the power cord and plug it back in after 30 seconds to ensure that the device resets itself.
2.Then press the button.
3.Once the printer has restarted, please try to print a test page.

Error 5C20 means the logic board is faulty - most likely because it can't move the rollers and carriage.
This is a serious problem and in case a power recycle reset procedure does not fix it you will need to get the printer serviced.

Canon MX7600 error 5100, 5C20

Yes, 5100 means the carriage is not moving back and forth properly or there is grease on the encoder strip behind the carriage assembly. Grease spots make it lose count and slam into the side and grind gears. You need to clean the strip with a Q-tip moist with alcohol, but very carefully, not too much pressure on the strip.
