Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have a Vaio pcg-3c2l model laptop. I shut down my laptop, left it off and unpluged without the battery for more then 6 hrs and tried to turn it on. When I plug in the power cord and the light shows that there is power running into the laptop, but as soon as I press the power button, it wont turn on and the light goes away. I tried turning it on with just the battery, it did not work. I tried turning it on with just the Adaptor, it did not work. I tried holding the power button for 30 sec then repluging the power cord. Still no power on. Help me?

SOURCE: the fan of my sony vaio model pcg 3c2l stops

Only do this if you feel competent in doing so.

Pulling apart laptops is not for the faint of heart.

If you really must do it there are some
good guides here
.

An alternative is to get a can of compressed air used to clean computers. Put the nozzle on and spray it in every hole you can see without putting the nozzle itself inside the laptop.

Do this outside with glasses on.

You may also want to remove the hard drive and ROM drive.

Take a
peek here for more ideas of what is involved.

There are a few are tips for various things in there.

DON'T touch the CPU cooler unless you know what you are doing and have some thermal grease for CPUs to hand.

To make newer laptops last longer between cleaning a good 3 fan cooling pad is suggested.
never use a laptop on soft surfaces as the ventilation can act as a mini vacuum cleaner and encourage dirt build up.
Soft surfaces also block the vents causing fans to run more and burn out sooner.
Hope this gives you the information you need

SOURCE: My Sony Vaio PCG 3C2L will not turn on. It looks

it sounds like a problem with your harddrive. if you have an oem copy of your OS then you could do a chkdsk /r from this. If not then the harddrive will have to be removed and the chkdsk /r done from a data reader from another computer. Hope this helps, leave feedback

My Sony vaio pcg 3c2l has locked up. The keyboard stopped responding and now the screen is black, but the power light is still on. The power button doesn't respond when I push it. What should I do?

Try pressing the power button for several seconds (10-15). It should power off the laptop.
If not, unplug the charger and remove the battery for a few minutes. Then try to start it up again.

Sony vaio pcg k25 does not turn on

It could be many things including the mother board, but it could also be something much more simple. When a processor overheats (big problem on alot of laptops) the laptop automatically shuts off, and sometimes does not come back on for a while. You shoudl try to unplug it, and take out the battery for a while, and try turning it on WITHOUT the battery in.
