I have a dell 2400 desktop computer. I recently got FIOS and they hooked my wife's computer to their router with an ethernet cable. Can I also hook my dell up the same way?

Depends on the hardware. Is it a router or modem? Does is have extra ports in the back,

Router with extra ports, just connect new device with wire or even wireless if it has wireless.

Modem, most likey you have to buy a router.

Setting up printer on home network

Because your printer is not either wireless or network capable, the only way to get the results you need is to purchase a usb print server, hook it to your router, set it up through it's management console, and if your router is wireless, you can hook up to your router and print to your printer with your desktop turned on or off.

Wireless connection set up

Are you trying to hook up the laptop wirelessly to the pc? because then the pc would need to have a wireless card as well....sounds like I need more info, but if you are trying to do what I think you are, you should just get a wireless router instead, hook the pc tower directly to it via ethernet cable, and then setup the laptop to connect to the router. The router would hook to your dsl or cable router....what service do you have?

I have a toshiba router and I am trying to hook up my d-link wireless broadband router with no success.

I don't think you can do this weressly and I don't think this is what you actually want.
hooking up a router to another router its probably something you may not need/want to do.
why do you need a router hooked up to another router?
the router allows you to get onto/comunicate with another network... (ex... you computers at home (local network) onto the internet (the other network)... do you have 2 local networks that you want to keep separate?, you can do that.. but it requires to know some basics concepts on subnetting. please explain in detail what you're trying to do

When we hook the wireless router to the modem and computer, we cannot access the internet. AS soon as we unplug it and put the computer and modem back the way it was, we can get back on the internet. How...

Log into the router so you can see the settings. Somewhere under WAN settings there should be something for you to "clone MAC address" click on that so the router clones the MAC address from the computer and this should work.

When I set up the router It comes back with the internet is not hook up, but when I hook the intern et up to the lap top it goes right through Please help me with this problem

try restarting the modem while it is connected to the router. the modem probably thinks that it is hooked straight up to a computer not a router. if that doesn't work go to the web gui by going to the routers ip address on a computer connected to the router. the easiest way to find its ip is to go to run (or the bottom search bar if in vista) and type in cmd. once this is up type in ipconfig /all look for the the default gateway. write this number down somewere.
next go get on a web browser (internet exploiter or fire fox) and in the address bar type in that number. this will take you to the web gui. start adjusting the router so that it works with your internet service.

I have a linksys wrt54gs router and if i hook it up to my cable modem my ip # is 192.168.1.100 and I can not get on the internet but if I un hook it and just hook up my cable to my wireded computer my ip #...

What's happening is that the Cable modem is obtaining the MAC address of your PC. By unplugging the ether cable from the pc and plugging it into the router, the cable modem will not obtain the new MAC address. It needs to be reset by UNPLUGGING the power cable for atleast 30 seconds and reconnecting it again. I'd do the same for the router as a precaution.

Good luck

Can not get wireless router to hook up

Can you be more specific please. What do you mean by "hook up". Do you mean you can't get any signal from the router? Or connecting the router to the computer.
