Unfortunately you will lose all your apps and everything else for that matter. If you bought these apps with your itunes account, you should be able to log into your account through itunes on your computer, and go to the apps in itunes, and you have to manually re-download each one, but you won't have to buy them again as long as you are logged into your itunes account where you purchased them before. Did you never back up this ipod touch? If you backed it up you can restore from that backup and would not lose anything, but if you never did, then sadly you have to get each app individually, along with any music. It's definitely a pain, I know, but there is no other way. In the future make sure you back up your ipod by just right clicking (or control clicking if you are on a mac) and selecting BACK UP on the ipod. Then you restore the same way, but you of course click RESTORE.. but if you didn't do that previously, you will sadly lose your apps once you sync back to itunes.

Thanks
Tim

Hello, Richard.

Here are some suggestions:

First, update your version of iTunes.

Ensure that your computer's drivers are up to date. Since you restored your laptop, update your Windows drivers. Go to Tools - Windows update in Internet Explorer.

Be certain that your USB ports (where your iPod connects) are OK.

Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

For testing purposes, try to back up your iPod on another computer. That will determine if your iPod or computer is the problem.

My ipod touch is locked and i cant remember the code

Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

Unfortunately if your iPod Touch is locked and you cannot recall the pass code to unlock it, you will have to perform a factory restore, in order to clear your iPod Touch of that previous pass code.

The good thing is, even though you will wipe all your current data on your iPod Touch, after the factory restore, you can restore your most current back up through iTunes to restore the data back to your iPod.

To restore your iPod Touch is simple:
* Be sure you restore your iPod Touch on the same computer or notebook that your previous iPod Touch backup files or stored.

* Now, make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes.
• Be sure your iPod Touch is correctly connected to computer or notebook .

• Finally, in the left column under DEVICES, click on your iPod Touch, then click on Restore under the Summary tab.

* Allow the process to complete and your iPod Touch will be restored to its original factory default settings.

* Now simply re-sync your iPod Touch with iTunes and this is where your last sync now comes into play. When you sync after the restore, iTunes will look for your iPod Touch's previous backup and per your permission, will restore your most recent backup to your device.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This time, when you set up your pass code... Make sure to write it down somewhere or in a place that is easily accessible and a in a place that you won't soon forget.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Does restoring your itouch erase all your apps you have on it????

No. The itouch apps will re-sync with the computer, unless it's not the original computer you synced with in the beginning.

Why does my ipod say connect to itunes

Connect to iTunes means that your iPod Touch is in Recovery mode.
Simply plug your iPod Touch into your computer, laptop, or netbook and iTunes will tell you to restore to the latest firmware. Press "OK" and it'll download the latest firmware. In this case "iOS4".
Once it's done you'll have to sync all your music, games, apps ect what you have lost or choose a Back-Up.
Hope this helps :)

I need to unlock my ipod but itunes does not work on my computer my ipod touch is on the itunes icon and the cable how can i unlock it?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your iPod on the computer that was used to originally sync the iPod touch so that you can reset your passcode. Set the pass code to blank.

Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore).

Ipod touch doesn't get sync....

1. Do a reset. Hold down the button on the tip of the iPod touch AND the one button at the bottom of the screen together for at least 10 seconds. The "Slide to unlock" slider will mementarily appear, keep pressing then the Apple logo will appear. Let the iPod re-start. It has now been re-set. 2. Do a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). 3. Try re-installing iTunes on your computer then do a 'Restore'.
