Universal remote logitech 525

I have tried several times to, for want of a better word, load-up my new universal remote and every time (I do for now and I meen for now have vista which is going to be replaced with xp) I try I get a pop-up telling me that I have to "go to programs and right click on logitech and run as administrater" which I dobut it doesn't seem to work becouse when I go to start again it gives me the same message and I keep going around in circles, I'm just about at the point of smashing this piece of c---p and giving up but then it would win and not me?

Hey frankno2 - first of all good move going to XP. Second, go into your control panel and then user accounts. Check to make sure that you have administrator rights. If not, edit your user account so you have administrator rights. Log off, then log back on and hopefully you'll be ok. If this fixes your problem PLEASE rate as fixed. If not, DON'T RATE YET! Just add a comment letting me know what happened and I'll assist you further. We won't let that thing win. We never do! Thanks.

Look at your account. Are you listed as a computer administrator? When you log in - if you log in - are there two choices: you and an administrator?

  • The built-in administrator account is disabled by default in Windows Vista on new installations. This means that you should be able to make your account an administrator account or create another account, make that one administrator, use that one to make yours an administrators and then delete the new one.

If those are the only options you have, go back to your control panel and type user accounts in the search box. Cick on create administrator account.

Hey frank - there's a new version of software on logitech site. Version 7.4.1.1 Check to see what version you have. Logitech says if you don't have model that matches exactly pick one that's the closest. This the link for the 520. You could download it and see if it works. If this fixes your probleb please rate fixed.

    Hi,

Could it be that you are currently log on as a "user" with no administrator rights? This would explain the message. To confirm if your current user account has such privileges, pls open your control panel and and click on "User Accounts".

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Good luck and kind regards.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi again frankno2 and with the indulgence of oldnovii,

Sorry but none of the 3, usually, after clicking on "User Accounts" in the "Control Panel", the next page will show the different accounts that uses the PC. One of them would be what you are using now. Below that would be a short phrase that says "Computer Administrator" or "Limited". If it is the latter, then that would explain why several features/functions are not available to you such as programming/setting/configuring the Logitech Harmony 525. What would then be required is for you to log off and log in again using another account name with Administrator Privileges such as the "Administrator".

I received my anywhere one week ago, the remote didn't work, reracking several times didn't help, I replaced the battery with minus to plus vv. and then put it in again properly, working flawlessly since. Logitech won't advise this method but it's worth trying.

How do i program for sony cd player

I also have a Sony CD player (CDP-XE330) and I have tried almost every code from the yamaha manual, but without success.
The only codes that yamaha remote supports, are the codes from the list in the yamaha manual. If none works, you are out of luck and the only solution is using the original sony remote (if you have one) or universal remote.

I have recently purchased Logitech Harmony 525 on eBay and now I control all my 7 devices with it without any issues. It is programmed via USB and Logitech has codes for almost 250.000 devices.

    No remote for Swisstec T.V.

    Hi rhami,

The only brand of universal remote I know of that has a code for Swisstec brand TVs is the Integra - the code is 0880.

The other option is to order a replacement remote for your model TV. http://www.amazon.co.uk carries remotes for a wide variety of Swisstec TVs (note that www.amazon.com does *not* offer these since Swisstec is British).

I hope this helps - please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Teac PLD2000 Remote control

The best solution for any home theatre setup is a good universal remote. Some of the best ones are from logitech (used to be Harmony). They are capable of controling ANYTHING, and are Easily web programmable. Most common devices and stereos are already on their website so no long configuration is necessary. take a look at logitech's website: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/372&cl=ca,en for example would be a good buy. go down to your local circuit city or futureshop or such, and ask for a Logitech universal remote, they will likely know what you're asking for. Bigger is not always better, but getting a logitech remote will solve all of your universal remote problems for a long time to come. They're easy and always "updateable" online for the newest equipment available

I found a perfect universal remote with the logitech harmony 525. usb / infrared / internet upgradeable. also loads keyfunctions directly from the old remote, but most of the keys came directly from the standards offered. the configuration is web-based and always up2date. service people are also very helpful. can fully recommend it!
