Speed up your computer by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Acer Aspire t690 Desktop Freezes or reboots with in minutes of start up...Running Windows Vista. Help???

It is possible that your computer is overheating and is shutting down to prevent it from doing any harm to itself.
Make sure that all fans are clean, there must be no dust present as it hinders airflow!!!
Install as many fans as possible. Computer temps should be in the region of 30-40 degrees centigrade. To avoid CPU throttling, where the CPU slows down to prevent frying itself.
Please take the time to rate my expertise.
Thanks

My pc.. desktop is very slow.. its a windows vista

You may want to look into upgrading your RAM if there is less than 2GB installed. This is a recommendation that I have found in working with several PC's running this Operating System. Also, you would want to run disk clean up and remove any temporary files that Windows finds. Deleting any other temporary or unused files from your PC on a regular basis should increase system performance. In addition, if these steps do not solve your problem, you may want to consider upgrading to a faster performance hard drive (preferably a SATA II with a 32MB cache). As a last resort, you may look at your CPU to see if there is an upgrade for it, as well. Keep in mind that Vista is a resource hog and can slow down a PC within just a short period of time.

Runs slow sticks

The link I've give you below is linked to CCleaner which is a registry cleaner for your computer which basically removes un-needed data e.g. Internet History, Internet cache, computer logs and it also fixes shortcuts or any files which are not working correctly.

I use this software on my computer every time I shut down and it has made my computer work much faster.

Here's the link: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download you can download free if you select the 'alternative download'.

Random Restart or Computer Freeze

what you did is OK for minor fixes. mostly for application error.
you need to format the hard drive and install the OS again in order the OS to work properly. you may have some file that is left over that is cusing the shut-down.

Computer Restarts.

Most probably windows is generating an error and your computer is set to automatically restart when an error occurs. Try disabling automatic restart. right click my computer and select properties. click on the advanced tab and uncheck the automatically restart check box.

The reason why we need to do this is for us to see the actual error so that we will know what to do.

My laptop screen wont come on. it occasionally will after i keep trying it but then if it loads it just freezes and has to be restarted or will come up with a virus error then shut down for...

Sounds like a pretty nasty virus infection to me.
Will probably have to format and re-install your operating system. Give make and model of your computer and I'll see if I can find some shortcuts for you, i.e. maybe you have a recovery partition on your computer that will allow the computer to fix itself, but be prepared for a long wait as the computer performs the format and re-install

Home pc

hello,

try this,
click on start then run, type msconfig in command box,
system configuration window should show up. click on tab called startup. click disable all, then apply, then click ok, it should ask if u want to restart. please restart the computer.

what will it do? it will disable all startup applications.
if this resolves the issue, then you would know its one of the startup application causing your computer to freeze it.

also right click on bottom bar, then click task manager.
click on tab called processor.
average processor is 25-30.
in my laptop i have only 19 processor runnning.
if you have alot of processor running that definitly cause PC to slow/freeze.

hope this information help you
