SOURCE: HP CM1015 , has scanner

Hi,

The recommended action for these kind of error messages:

1. To replace the scanner sub-assembly (in this case the led).

2. To perform the post-repair tests #1 and #2 which are explained in the service manual of the printer. You can download the service manual from this link which I uploaded for you and search the page #73 (#63 on the page).

Hope this helps.

I have an HP Laserjet CM1015 Priner/scanner and an HP pavillion running Windows Vista. When I try to scan anything it says an error occured communicating with scanning device and check it is connected...

I had this too on my Vista. I re-installed the original software that came with the printer and the scanner then worked OK. My problem was always triggered when HP automatically downloaded 'updated' software, so I would disable the update feature as it only causes problems!!

Hope this works for you.

Laserjet CM1015 cannot print cyan color with a cartridge at 25% and no error on printe,

I would suggest you take the cartridge out and shake in back in forth for a bit. Then re-seat the cartridge then cycle the power. Just in case you haven't tried this already.

I'm using an HP 1015 MFP and the magenta does not print (well, may print faint). I've replaced with new cartridge to no avail. Any ideas?

Bad news. The problem is the scanner needs to be cleaned. It will cost about 85.00 or so. It's a lot of disassembly to get the scanner out to clean it. Any more questions fell free to call. 818-888-0006 Steven
