Question about Kidde DC Voice-Alert CO and Smoke Alarm

Hello My detector (Nighthawk KN-COSM-IBCA) started beeping this morning with a single beep every 15-30 seconds. When I checked the back for description of beeps it indicated that it was probably the battery. Once the battery was replaced and hooked back up, it still beeps every 15-30 seconds. The green light is on when hooked up showing that it is plugged in, but it still beeps. Not sure if there is procedure to reset, or if a new detector is needed. Thanks

They have a timer which means that they chirp after 7 years. You need new ones. 7 years is how long they think they last.

I'm pretty sure that indicates an alarm. The pattern is referred to as "temporal 4" which is the alarm pattern for CO. Either your device is in a bad place or there is an intermittent CO leak which is exceeding the ppm (parts per million) threshold for a given time period. The instructions for the device will tell you what that number is. If you have more than one of these, I would try swapping them to determine if the problen is with the device or the location. Normally, that means the battery(s) need changing.. But, hundreds people have had problems with this combo detector, it's hard to predict what it is.

But, as I said earlier, "Normally that means the battery(s) need changing." The keyword here is "Normally".

Nighthawk carbon monoxide alarm model number KN-COPP-3 err beeping every 25-30 seconds, I replaced battery they still beep. They say to seek users guide, which can't be found. It seems to have started...



1. Change batteries.
2. Clean it.
3. Swap it with another location if you can.

If it still does not work properly consult the local fire dept. for free.

You may have to take it in repairs if all fails.

My Kidde Model # KN-COEG-3 keeps going off and lists 217 now 205 now again 217 and this is with the door open and fresh air coming into my place ??


I took the following from the Kidde website. They only answer the phone Mon-Fri, from 8-5, EST. I checked it out because my almost new Kidde CO detector is showing an Error code.
The next time your carbon monoxide alarm has ERR on the display, push and hold the Peak Level button.You will see an E and an O followed by a number.Contact our hotline at 1-800-880-6788 and provide us the error code, along with the model number, assembly number and date of manufacture from the back of your unit.If your unit is under warranty, a replacement will be mailed to you.

If detector is more then 5 years old it will beep every 30 seconde to wirn you the sensor in the detector needs to be replaced. bying a new detector would be better.

it is not the battery problem, you need to get a replacement.
the circuite board is bad.
