Hi,
The switch on the top is replaceable and no you do not have to open the system...the sensor is just stuck down in there in a thermal conductive compound similar to a boiler sensor in a well...
Just get the sensor, pull out the old one and insert the new one...
FYI, many of the newer scrolls do not have the sensor...I think they figured out that they are trouble and also that they are not needed...

Goodman air condenser is humming but the fan does not come on

The most likely cause is the fan motor has failed. If it turns free then see if the capacitor is bad. Turn off the power remove the capacitor. Your local supply houses can test it for you.

My indoor fan motor comes on even when the thermastat is off

Is your thermostat perhaps programmed with a circulation option. Many modern thermostats have this option. check your fan options. They may be On,Auto,Circ. If it has a Circ or Circulation option, your indoor fan will still periodically turn on according to ASHRAE standards, even if your stat is turned off. if you poke the fan button you should be able to choose auto and this will solve your problem. Hope this helps.

1995 honda odyssey starting problems

Hello! in 1995 stored trouble codes used the On Board Diagnostic I software (OBDI)..Scanners will not work...The control unit LED can indicate any number of simultaneous component conditions by blinking separate codes, one after another...An instrument panel mounted indicator lamp will light and stay lit. If the lamp is on, or if a system malfunction is suspected even though the lamp is off, it is necessary to inspect the electronic control unit LED display. The LED display is on the ECM (ECU), which is located just below the RH side of the instrument panel. The indicator lamps operate whenever the ignition is On and a DTC is stored in the ECM (ECU) memory.
When an abnormality is detected the ECM (ECU) display blinks. The LED blinks a certain number of times, with the number of blinks indicating the number of the DTC. After the LED blinks a number of times there will be a two second pause and the LED will blink out the number of the next DTC..here are the codes..If there is a code send it to me...If there isn't a code I'll take it from there...guru.saailer

After going over 40mph the check engine light goes on n it gives the code 440

How did you read that code on your car? A 92 Accord is supposed to give you pre-OBD honda codes, which are all below 100. Please check the code again and re-post it.

I have a code flashing on my ecu for a honda

This is from the first or second google search for "honda civic ecu codes". I'm actually going through this myself.
EF Ecu Trouble Codes
Reading EF ecu Trouble codes
Reading them's pretty simple. When there is a long flash this indicates tens and a short flash indicates ones.

Look under the Passenger seat (under the passenger kick panel for flashing LED - engine code. Short the plug under there.

For example: Flaaaaaash Flaaaaaash Flash = code 21
Flaaaaaash Flash = code 11
Flash Flash = code 2

Ask your autoparts store how much the parts are and decide if it has a point to even do it, its a 19 year old car. You should also ask if that employee works on the side and would do it for you, if you aren't comfortable.

I am looking for specs, specifically the RLA, on a Carrier Model 48LH006600(?)-- not sure about model #, nameplate data is totally faded!

It will tell you on the metal plate on top of the compressor, or sticker what the R.L.A.are and the L.R.A's are. If you cant read them, try and get what information you can from the compressor, like the name, Tecumseh, Copeland scroll, ect, The 48 would be the tonnage, 4 ton, or 60 a 5 ton unit. You should have enough of the model number for a air conditioning wholesale parts house to tell you this. we deal with this in the field daily.
Good Luck, Shastalaker7 I hope this helps you.

Electronic Engine Control System

It means you have a computerized system management problem. An electronic sensor component has either failed, or a condition has occurred that has put a sensor out of normal range and the onboard computer is letting you know of it. Any time that light comes on it sets a code that can be read with a special code reader. Most auto parts stores will retrieve the code/ codes for you at no cost. Be very cautious interpreting the codes meaning, because various engine conditions will set a code as well, because the condition will affect what the sensor measures. If you spend the money for the replacement sensor(never cheap) it won't shut the light off.Once installed auto parts stores will not take it back. Also 90 percent of the time it is defective wiring running to the sensor or bad grounding that causes the codes/codes.So unless you have a ton of high priced testing equipment and a lot of electronic engine control troubleshooting experience, you best take in in for service. One more thing. The most common reason the light comes on is a loose or defective gas cap.The computer monitors that too.
