Question about Ferrari Baby Gear

1 Answer

I own a 2004 ferrari 360 modina. I was involved in a moderate rear-end impact. My drivers seat damaged. I was able to find a "used" seat. However, my insurance co. wants to REPAIR SEAT. This will require about FOUR HOURS LABOR TIME. I'm concerned about a LIABILITY ISSUE? Please advise.

You do not have to do what the insurance company wants. Call them and discuss it. Be assertive. You have the upper hand since you pay for their service. You can also report them to the state attorney general's office [they hate that!]. HOW much money are they williing to give you in comparison to what will it cost if you choose either repair or replace with used. You can always take the money directly from them and then do as you choose. J.

Fabulous Ferrari

In terms of style and automotive technology, it is the Ferrari that leads the pack and the new F430 is definitely full of promise. It is the update of the 350 Modena and the model first graced the world at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September. It still retains the unmistakable Ferrari look that originated with the Enzo and a number of design elements were adapted and incorporated. It has the all-new 4.3-liter engine with 490 horsepower. The unit was based on the engines of the Maserati models. The basic look of the Ferrari F430 originates from the F355 and it was from the F355 that the 360 Modena evolved. Soon, the F430 adapted the look. While the 360 has these horizontal headlights, the Ferrari F430 features vertical headlights almost identical to the Enzo's. The F430 also has bigger front air intakes and a small splitter in the middle much like the Enzo. The F430 has eliminated the small nose in the center of the bumper and features a larger front spoiler air duct on the trailing edge. The influence of the Enzo on the Ferrari F430 is maintained on both the rear and lower air intakes. The taillights are mounted high on the back fascia. There are five cutouts on all sides of the engine cover of the F430 while there is none for the 360. The rear air diffuser with Enzo-esque vertical canes is more prominent on the F430 and the rear bumper has a more natural integration into the rear body compared to the 360. The aluminum space frame of the Ferrari F430 and the 360 are basically the same but the F430 has that Maserati 4.3 liter V8 engine. It has an output of 490 horsepower with a torque of 343 lb-ft. It is certainly more powerful than the 360 Modena with a higher power-to-weight ratio. In just 4 seconds, the F430 can reach 62 mph with a top speed of 196 mph. The F430 is the pioneering V8 Ferrari to have driver aid control fixed to the steering wheel, as seen previously on the 612 Scaglietti and Enzo. There is a knob on the right known as the manettino by the drivers on the Ferrari F1 team. It controls the dynamic modes of the car. Shifting with the de riguer paddle shifters can be done in just 150 milliseconds and this sends power through the differential, which is electronically controlled. Such a new technology was adapted from the F1 team. The 19-inch, dual-spoke wheels of the F430 are reminiscent to the Enzo's. $20,000 carbon-ceramic brakes can also be fitted as an add-on. Like all Ferrari vehicles, the F430 does not come cheap. When it became available in the US, it was in the $200,000 range but sold even higher than the window sticker price due to such a huge demand. The first few cars that were sold reportedly cost a quarter of a million dollars.

What is the slow down message on ferrari 360 f1 dash? my ferrari showed this message yesterday to me and i slowed down for a a minute then it turned off but i wasn't going fast. i thought may b coz i...

Being a V8 you obviously have one cat converter to serve per cylinder bank, you also have one 02 sensor and one pyrometer per cat converter, that slow down signal could have several meanings, either you have a faulty pyrometer or 02 sensor, a damaged cat conveter or even a fouled spark plug, best thing to do is have it put on a scanner and see what fault code comes up.

How to change the oil and level check for ferrari 360 modena

Ferrari recommends checking level with engine at operating temperature You cannot use coolant temperature as engine oil temperature takes longer therfeore use oil temperature gauge (150-160 F) as reference. Check oil dipstick in oil accumulator. I find this difficult as some amount of oil foaming makes it difficult to determine level. I get the temp up stop engine then immediately check level. Warning, if you over fill you will end up with burn off when starting which results in a big blue cloud at startup and possible fouling of the catalytic converter.

Changing oil involves removing the posterior underbody aerodynamic panel 2 giant Hex bolts. Oil filter top of engine. Difficult access as engine subframe gets in the way , I use a rubber strap wrench works well
Buy your filters from T.Rutlands, get on their E- mail. lists as they have sales on filters on other items.

2003 Ferrari 360 spider convertible issue

The most common reason for this is low hydraulic fluid. The noise is probably the pump running while empty. When fluid id present it dampens that noise. Behind the rear seat is the combination motor/pump/reservoir. With the top in the DOWN position, fill the reservoir with ATF and cycle the system a few times as far as it will go. Repeat until the reservoir will take no more fluid. If that works, it is only a patch fix. You must now inspect the lines, motor and cylinders for leaks. The fluid does not evaporate. If it is low, you have a leak. Karl at topgunwon.com

Ferrari 360 dead battery

Correct, the battery is in the passenger footwell under the aluminum plate. It is perfectly fine to charge the battery here, but it is not recommended to jump start. Also, it is possible to get in the trunk without having power. There is an emergency release pull tab under the drivers side dash. Quite easy to use, actually I normally use this in lieu of the normal electric release.

Looking for a used Ferrari 360

For starters, there's no such thing as a 2006 Ferrari Enzo. They weren't produced past 2004, and even then, they only made 400 in 2 years. Second, if you're finding a $50k Ferrari 360, turn around and walk away. You should be paying 3 times that amount for a well kept Ferrari with reasonably low mileage. Go to a dealer, and ask there if you're serious. A Ferrari dealer isn't just a used car salesman...they would double as an art dealer offering their customer as much of the best service as possible. You should look for a very well kept and intensive maintenance record, with any and all work being done by a certified Ferrari mechanic. You should also be able to see and contact any and all previous owners. There shouldn't be too many problems at all unless there was an incident or a rough driver, but for the most part, they're driven conservatively by people who see these cars as investments, and not collectors items. Collectors don't sell Ferrari's, they trade for other Ferrari's with other Ferrari guys. If you don't know what you're getting into, hold off until you do your research. A Ferrari isn't just another car, and deserves more than just another driver.
