Try and take off front access panel and look to see if shocks(2)are in place. Take off top and check to see if springs are connected. If all ok - depending on age of machine main bearing
in rear could be bad, if so better to buy new machine. This washer is known to last about 5 yrs if lucky

FAV6800AWW won't spin without going out of balance

Each of the legs supporting the washer need to be adjusted and the washer leveled. You will need a Level with bubble indicators to see the exact position of the liquid within & it is in the center of the glass container. Level front to back and side to side. When done the washer should be level at all 4 sides and it will not move around and cause the level indicators to trip any switches.

Walking machine spin

Good Morning Jason, thank you for your inquiry!

If the washer is walking or vibrating, then more than likely it is not sitting solidly on the floor. Move washer until it sits solidly and the leveling legs may need adjusting. This issue may also occur if the shipping blocks and bolts weren't removed when the washer was installed, or you have an unbalance load.

Best regards!

Leveling kenmore elite front loader

  • Place the level on the top of the washing machineicon1.png to see if it is level. Make sure you test it side to side and front to back.

Pull the washing machine away from any walls if you have to make an adjustment to the legs.

  • Lift the washericon1.png and place the wood block underneath the washer. Place the block near the leg that needs to be adjusted, but don't let it obstruct the leg.

  • Loosen the nut that secures the legicon1.png with the wrench.

  • Raise the height of the leg by twisting it to the left, or lower the height by twisting it to the right.

  • Remove the block of wood from under the washer and recheck the machine with the level.

  • Raise or lower the leg if additional adjustments are needed.

  • Tighten the nut on the leg with the wrench when the machine is level.

  • Repeat the process for each leg that needs to be adjusted.

  • Move the washer back into position and check with the level again to make sure the washer remains stable to finish leveling the machine.

Anytime this machine goes into a spin cycle it is grossly out of balance. we have tried adjusting the load; reducing the size of the load; we have gone to just one towel in the washer and still out of...

Are the locking nuts tight on all 4 legs? If not, tighten all locking nuts after leveling machine. Also, place a glass of water about 18" in front of machine while spinning and see if water moves. If it does, you may have flooring issues.

    Off balance

make sure you have all the shipping material out of unit..4 bolts in back and styrofoam under tub if so ,then get a adjustable wrench ,,,put unit in drain spin cycle or spin cycle only..when unit gets to fastest spin ,,thats will come when its about 8 minutes left..tighten each leg lock nut on unit until unit stops vibrating..only turn the lock nut not the leg..only adjust lock nut on legs in high speed spin

    Spins off balance

    Hello kel_lyn_eve,

Because your washing machine is so heavy, when it's not level, it can vibrate strongly during the spin cycle. If your washing machine is not perfectly level--with all four legs touching the floor--it can bang and rock back and forth, and even begin to "walk" across the room. This isn't good for the machine and may damage anything near the machine.

Your washing machine has adjustable, front leveling legs with a lock nut. You adjust the leg to the proper height, then tighten the lock nut up against the body of the machine to keep the leg from rotating.

Some machines have adjustable leveling legs in the rear also, and you can adjust them in the same way. Keep the machine as close to the floor as possible--the lower it is, the less likely it is to vibrate.

Most machines, however, have "self-adjusting" rear legs. You set these legs by tilting the entire machine forward onto its front legs (with the rear legs 3 to 4 inches off the floor) and then setting the machine back down. The legs should adjust automatically. If they don't, you may need to tilt the machine forward and rap on the rear legs with the handle of a hammer to loosen them--a procedure that's easier to accomplish with a helper.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa! rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you fix your problem.

Kenmore washer series 70 shakes wildly during spin during cycle

I have the same kenmore and have experience this before. It is unbalanced. Get a spirit level to check for balance. To rebalance, empty the washer (so it's not heavy), lean over the washer and grab the back, tilt it forward and the auto balancing legs should reposition themselves. Re-check for balance using the spirit level. If still out, adjust the front feet of the washer by screwing the legs up or down (using a wrench). This will cure the problem (unless you have a very unbalanced load of towels for instance). Good luck

    Walking during the spin cycle

Is your floor level, first thing. Okay, the rear 2 legs are not adjustable so leave it. The front 2 legs should be screwed up (ie the machine should be at the lowest level in front) and there are check nuts to tighten inside the body of the machine. Check the machine it it rocks by using your hand against it. Adjust accordingly, this is if your floor is not too good. You shd not hv any problem. If the rocking persists check inside machine, behind after getting he plug off wall, maybe shockabsorbers hv come off, springs?.....

and rate me please if helped.............

Remove the 4 transit bolts from the back of the washing machine. These are supposed to be remove during installation. If they are not removed the machine jumps around like crazy on the spin cycle and the machine is almost unusable.
