Question about John Deere Garden

1 Answer

I have a John Deere 2E leaf blower. Lately it has been hard to start but runs fine once it is up and running. Would it help to adjust the H or L screws on the carb?

The H (High Speed) and L (low Speed) should not typically need adjustment. What happens is the diaphragms get stiff and do not operate efficiently. If the unit is over 5 years old and/or the fuel is not completely drained with the unit run dry at the end of the fall, then I would suggest replacing the diaphragms within the carburetor. This along with spark plug change, air filter cleaning and a check of the muffler to insure it is not clogged is considered a basic tune-up.

I have a Husqvarna 125 blower. Where do you start adjusting the high/low needle valves. Do you run them in and then do the 2,5/2 turns you mentioned. They are not set from the factory. Had trash in the...

2 needle adjusters? one should be marked L & the other H.I hope you removed them for cleaning. Re-install them turn to the right until they stop. Then back them out [ counter clock wise] 1 & 1/2 turns is a good guess to start from. try to start, you will need some patience for this as it is trial & error.Keep tweaking them until it runs. once you get it running the one marked L is low speed or Idle H is the high speed. Tweak them while its running for best performance. I just went through this yesterday with a john deere 2 stroke and ended up at about 1 turn out from full stop on the needle adjustments. I also did this with the air filter off so I could see when flooding was happening. When it did I had some compressed air to blast the excess fuel away. good luck

What is the fuel/oil ratio of a john deere BH25 leaf blower?

The BH25 that I use from my friend runs on STRAIGHT gas, it is 4cycle. Do NOT put a fuel mix into it!! It has separate oil system.

I have a John Deere hand held blower. I can't get

Your adjustments to the carburetor may make it worse.
Plus if the fuel mixture is over 30 old, I would replace it.
Manufacturers have told us this year any gas over 30 days old is considered bad gas and needs to be replaced. I would try some fresh gas(from the station) and some new 2 cycle oil at 40:1 Ratio(3.2 ozs 2 cycle oil to 1 gal of gas).
Good day.
