Depending on how its hooked up. If you are using just coax cable, channel 3 or 4. If you are using Video cables, "Video" would be the input. If you still have an issue, post a reply and I will help you further.

I replaced my TV and now my VCR Zenith Model 2100 will not record

Digital TV can use component video and stereo connections to record on analog VCR. Analog VCR needs DTV converter to record digital TV channels. VCR play back use AV channel on TV.

I have the emerson vcr model ev467 and it has hardly been used. Went to record a tv program today and when i went to play back the tape, nothing was on it. All indicators were on, so i thought it was...

do you have a cable box connected. If you do you have to tell the vcr to record on channel 3 or 4 (whichever you have the tv tune to regularly) then put the cable box on the channel you want to record the show on

Recording

With your setup, the VCR gets its input from the cable box output, which will be on either channel 3 or 4. It depends on how you've set the box. The channel you are watching on TV or want to record is picked on the cable box.

The VCR will only ever see a channel 3 or 4 signal, so it must stay on that channel. That means when you record, set the VCR to record on channel 3 or 4, the box OUTPUT channel. The biggest mistake people make when they have a cable box is to set the VCR to record on some channel other than 3 or 4, and the result is snow. There's nothing on any other channel for the VCR to record. You also need to have the cable box turned on and set to the channel you want to record if you set the VCR for timer recording. That's another pitfall people meet.

This should get your recording going.

VCR doesn't record since Comcast installed digital box

Try this..Run cable line into VCR in, cable from VCR out to box, then cable from box to TV..this might work...I have done this for YEARS and it is never failed. You can then watch and record 2 things at once.

New TV won't ''talk to'' old VCR

using the magnovox remote, reprogram the vcr's channels. set it up to use cable not air. when the vcr was unlugged it lost it's channel memory. don't buy new cables, you're getting a picture and sound so that means your rca cables are ok.

Daewoo vcr won't playback images

Then JJ Adams,

I can think of only these reasons for your problem.
1. the VCR is not Recording a Signal.
2. Perhaps you have not selected TUNER as the Signal Input
If this the case, you will get a screen with a lot of 'Snow' .

Better check your VCR setup first, before calling Technician to have a look at the Recording Circuits.

I broght a 32 Sharp T.V. 1080P (LC-32D62U)wroks fine. Attached is VCR(RCA) & DVD(GE) works fine except when I record on the VCR. Play back is just snow?

try channel Line 1 or Line 2 on your TV and or VCR... not channel "3" if  you're using "RCA cords".  Also, make sure your VCR and TV are "SETUP" to look for composite input's rather than coaxial.
good luck!

My big screen tv show snow on all channels.

ok.

if you see only snow on the regular screen, might as well check the connecting antenna at the back since you mean all snow on all channels.

hope this helps.

Problem with programmed recordings

DID you set the channel on the VCR to the sttating your recording? Also does your cable go to the tv, then to the vcr? If so the channel you record will be the one your watching. Or did you accidently screw the cable into the "cable out" on the dvr?
